I stopped smoking on July 16th 2011 I can honestly say I did not enjoy anyone of the thousands of cigarettes I smoked.
Friends of mine were on E-cigs so I considered it,but they were permanently using them, not as an aid to quit.
I decided not to poisen myself anymore with NRT products, nicotine is highly toxic 60 to 80 Mgms will kill a healthy adult. This is the amount contained in 30 cigarettes.
One more fact nicotine has never been tested to see if it carcenegenic, you may be acting as guinea pigs

You're different to me as an ex-smoker then. If smoking didn't make me smell, wasn't so expensive and wasn't likely to kill me, would I still smoke. Yes, I would - I enjoyed smoking.

However, smoking cigarettes does do those things and I don't want to die, smell awful and be skint so the e-cig is perfect for me. I like nicotine, I like my double espresso in the morning too - it's just one of many things that I like that perhaps I shouldn't, that's my life.

I had a good ol' google after your highly toxic comment to see how many thousands of deaths have been caused in the UK by nicotine overdose/poisoning. I could only find a handful, mainly suicides, children finding prescribed NRT gum and a gruesome murder of a wife.

My Riva e-cig is brilliant. I quit cigarettes nearly 2 months ago and know I'll never go back and I've never felt like that before. My morning cough has gone, carbon monoxide reading is at zero, chest feels wonderful and clear, skin already looks better. I buy premixed juice at a low nicotine level (8mg) and this feels safe to me and certainly infinitely better than smoking cigarettes. Everything's kept locked away out of reach of any little visitors and in the same way that I'm not going to take 8 paracetamol in one go, I'm not going to stupid enough to drink the e-juice or bathe in the stuff.

You've got your thoughts on nicotine and I've got mine so we'll just have to agree to differ. I've read about research into it helping to stave off alzheimer's and that's being looked into more now. http://www.nhs.uk/news/2012/01January/Pages/nicotine-replacement-patches-for-dementia-alzheimers.aspx I'm 100% happy with my choices - t'is working perfectly for me.

Well BAT are bringing out a new tobacco free cig impersonator and this is what they have to say about nicotine.

Well British American Tabacco would say that they want to sell as many smoke related products as possible to satisfy the reduction in investors who buy their shares.

FACT nicotine is highly toxic,it is a poisen, take it at your peril.

Let me try and put this as simply as I can, because you obviously can't read properly.

Would you have us taking nicotine with all the other bad things in cigarettes, or without?

That is the choice. Giving up for most of us, isn't a choice. We've all constantly tried and failed.

The link I gave you (if you bothered reading it) was links to proper scientists views and results.

Respect your post,I was an addict hated smoking, you are an addict but get some pleasure from it.

My only question is when you had your first fag after rcovering from your coughing fit why did smoke another.
  • Oh God, that's taking me back more than 20 years (or maybe 7 or 8 when I could recite Allen Carr frontwards, backwards upside-down, asking myself this very same question :-) - rebellion I suppose with a bit of peer pressure chucked in for good measure and a rather unhealthy fascination with blowing smoke out while feeling a little dizzy.

  • Oh, BTW I'm pretty sure, like other heavy smokers, that on occasion I've smoked 30 cigs in 1 night! I probably didn't feel good the next morning, but was still alive
You clearly do not know what you are talking about.
Research the subject most nicotine is burnt off before before it reaches the lungs 30 cigs are not lethal if smoked.

Proves to me there is a lot of ignorance on this forum regarding what people are poisining themselves with.

It proves nothing of the sort :rotfl: you presumably smoked for many years, poisoning (if you are such an expert, please learn to spell it properly ;)) yourself with nicotine, did you know all about cigarettes then? And if you did, why did you continue?

And maybe you could answer my other questions, or are they too hard for you?

  • Most of the nicotine in the vapour from e-cigs is absorbed through the membranes in your mouth. Much the same really as nicotine chewing gum, lozenges, nicotine inhalators and apparently you can now get a nicotine nasal spray and most of these already mentioned the NHS will prescribe you at the same time as prescribing you nicotine patches (for the nicotine to be absorbed through your skin)

BTW, it was yourself Denis that mentioned there was enough poison in 30 cigs to kill you? One things for sure, 30 cigs a day for years will seriously harm your health!

Cheap shot :rotfl: You really are a special person Denis. You need to start a new account and troll using that, then we won't be able to look at any previous posts.

This just shows your mental position, you prefer them to smoke, rather than use a harm reduction system.

Denis, Denis, Denis. What are we to do with you ..... :D
