I haven't tried it I'm afraid, but both my cousin and my uncle were 'smoking' these at the weekend. My uncle seems to be bearing with it but my cousin can't stand them - he says the taste is awful and its no substitute at all for a ciggie, and is just cutting down on the real things week by week. Sorry.

Hey it is nice to know by yourself about your uncle but electronic cigarette will not harm on your health, this is the reason why are people using electronic cigarette.

No smoking thread still being petty :(

Anyhow just to say I've just reduced by nic conc by 2mg again so now down to 22mg/ml (from 36mg/ml) :j....

Just wasn't doing it for me at 24mg/ml...felt a bit too strong though it's been less than 2 weeks and I normally reduce every 3 weeks or more ...

    Any input most appreciated

I stopped smoking on July 16th 2011 I can honestly say I did not enjoy anyone of the thousands of cigarettes I smoked.
Friends of mine were on E-cigs so I considered it,but they were permanently using them, not as an aid to quit.
I decided not to poisen myself anymore with NRT products, nicotine is highly toxic 60 to 80 Mgms will kill a healthy adult. This is the amount contained in 30 cigarettes.
One more fact nicotine has never been tested to see if it carcenegenic, you may be acting as guinea pigs

Well BAT are bringing out a new tobacco free cig impersonator and this is what they have to say about nicotine.

The amount of doctors coming out in favour of e-cigs is going up.

The proviso always is, if you can't give up smoking, then you can do harm reduction with e-cigs.

Acting as guinea pigs we indeed are, as is anyone on Champix (as well you know), but as the alternative for us is to go back to smoking......... I think maybe even you, can see the best thing to do.

  • OMG, there is poison in HNS NRT products? They even let you have patches and gum, inhalers etc all at the same time?

i'm really pleased for you Denis that your method has worked for you and I totally agree that taking nictonie is a bad thing, unfortunately not everyone is able to just give up. The NHS seems to recognise this when giving out their NRTs?
  • Oh, BTW I'm pretty sure, like other heavy smokers, that on occasion I've smoked 30 cigs in 1 night! I probably didn't feel good the next morning, but was still alive!

Your friends on the e-cigs - why are they not using them as an aid to quit? Are they still smoking?

All that nicotine AT ONCE will kill you, not in measured doses over time.
Which is why you do have to be careful with nicotine. I wouldn't have a high % nicotine for mixing in the house personally, too dangerous, I don't muck about with that, preferring to use decent safe companies to mix my juices for me.

But then try eating a whole load of coffee and see what happens to you, you wouldn't be very healthy.
