Hi have been reading loads on this but still am confused??? I would love to try as have got to quit smoking for health reasons.
Please can someone advist the best place to buy and what to buy?
Thanks if you can help.0 -
How much of this thread have you read?
If you go here:
http://groups.ebay.co.uk/clubforum.jspa?forumID=18000022092
you will find masses of info and several experienced "vapers" dropping in who will take you under their wing.
What I would very sincerely suggest is that you bite the bullet. An eBayer that I've bought from in the past and treated me more than fairly has just emailed me to say they are doing a special offer on a black Mini e-cig set. The Mini is a little bugga, but if you buy TWO starter kits from these people and ONE bottle of juice from wherever, you will be set up to give it a go.
While you are on your e-cig learning curve with the Mini you can explore other options and take in loads of info by osmosis - it sounds so complex if anyone tried to explain it all at once.
This is item from the company that have just written to me:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DSE901-SILVER-ELECTRONIC-CIGARETTE-10-REFILLS-E-CIG_W0QQitemZ260415616070QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Health_HealthCare_RL?hash=item3ca1faf446&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A30
If you ask them they may give you a P&P discount on the second set, otherwise it'll be £52 for 2 sets. Then you will have 2 chargers, which is important IMO. I am referring you to them rather than to a website supply company because the ordering process is simpler on eBay - and the product is virtually the same.
Please feel free to PM me. Or if you go to that group I've linked above, my name there is *scyllabub* - I'm the baby over there, not the bossy woman I am hereYou can click on my name there and message me and I'll get an email. The 'leader' Chrissie checks in several times a day, as do I, to see if anyone needs help or a chat, sometimes in this forum you might wait and wait for an answer to your query because it's not a specialist forum. I've been spending a lot of time on the big US forum but you need to keep it small and simply to start off with. OSMOSIS
The reason I'm telling you to get the Mini is because it's very popular and spares are available all over the place. You simply must get started, don't worry about anything else.
I've just bought the Janty Stick I spoke of a few posts ago - it arrived today and I nearly cried because it was so awful, but it's OK now
Now I'm out of breath

Good for you, Notso
Here's a video I just this minute found of an American lady demo-ing various (I think, yours is not the first one, certainly) e-cigs, it's a better quality video than some on YouTube and you'll need a bit of time (but you're worth it
):

Keep a very open mind when you get started with your kit - you may find it a culture shock and find it fiddly. Be assured that if you think "Yuk, this is too sweet" you will get used to it. And as long as you are not too stony broke you can buy different flavoured juices (though none of them are exactly like baccy). Some people take to it like a duck to water, others take time to get comfortable.
If you need to, come and see us in the eBay Group which I linked above.

I'm intending to use e-cigs to quit, over the coming days/weeks/months...
I got myself an Intellicig Evolution the other day with a load of cartridges. I ordered Low strength cartridges, which in hindsight might have been a mistake. I've found that instead of moving straight over to the e-cig I've been using up my stocks of marlboro lights (I seem to have stashes of cigs all over the place at home and work?!), but hopefully come tomorrow I'll have run out of them and will be able to switch straight over to the e-cig. The other day when I first got it I managed to go half the day at work without smoking a 'real' cigarette, which would be unheard of normally, though I did still get some cravings and subsequently found a new stash of 'real' cigs that I didn't want to just chuck away... I think I'll order myself some higher strength cartridges, but I'm not sure whether to get medium or high? I smoke around 20 Marlboro Lights a day at the moment... Anyone in a similar position who can give advice?
I was worried about looking a plonker at work (it's a fairly macho atmosphere on my team) but everyone seems facinated by it and nobody has taken the mick at all, which will be a definate help. The only thing I'm finding annoying so far is the fact that it's just a bit too long to fit into a normal cigarette packet, which makes carrying it and the spares around a bit awkward - I thought by buying the smaller batteries they would have fit in a normal packet. Any hints on carrying the Evo with smaller battery around? I've found that I've left it at home twice when going to work as it's not one of the normal things I pick up while rushing out the house (mobile, keys, warrant card/wallet, cigarettes[!!])....
Thanks in advance!0 -
What about a glasses case, perhaps the sleeve-type one?
I think Medium should be fine for the carts, get some juice too, Most people need less nicotine than they think. But if you buy a high juice you can dilute it with Vegetable Glycering and make it and your money go further and get more vapour into the bargain.
Newbies - set aside an hour  and have a look at this video:

Just my 2pennys worth i have always bought my ecigs from JuicyCigs.co.uk they are one of only two suppliers of the 510 and it beats any other ecig that i have owned. They also have some lovely juice and delivery is super fast.

Well, Mich, what a coincidence! Two coincidences, in fact! (1) I was just wondering today what had happened to this thread, and (2) I just got a delivery of my first 510 e-cigs today
Also known as the Dura-C, Titan, Joye510, maybe more.
Mine are the Janty Dura-C (manual batteries) - I won't go into it but I got them from 2 different suppliers:
www.iVapour.co.uk (Toby)
www.smokejuice.co.uk (Tim)
...both lovely fellas, they're both "official" Janty suppliers in the UK. I have recently come across Juicy Cigs, an ex eBay seller, I don't think I bought from him (though I thought I'd bought from nearly all the UK sellers and loads of foreign ones too). Juicy Cigs are not "supporting suppliers" on ECF, which is a huge e-cig forum that has mushroomed over the past months (venture in there at your peril... well, with plenty of time to get familiar with it!):
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/
Back to the 510 - I'm just doing the initial charging pallaver (8 hours charge, 20 minutes vape, 1 hour further charge, weird - I've got my kitchen minute-timer set and as I'm charging 2 batteries my tiny mind is getting confused)
The first batch of 510 batteries on the market were not too good (I understand) but they've been revamped and include a manual switch version which is good for dripping, which I prefer to using carts.
So far I think that the 510 is an improvement on the 901 Mini and it's lighter, I reckon. I will weigh them both soonish. It's significantly more expensive.
BTW Mich - you're not the Mich who inhaled a bit of mouthpiece, are you? If so, you survived
