Don't let me make you miss my post ^^ Minnie, but I've been searching the e-cig group for atomiser info and was reminded of one of our number, a 50-a-day Golden Virginia smoker, who bought 2 Mini kits over 6 months ago and has never had to buy more equipment, never cleaned his atomisers or done any "maintenance" whatsoever. His reply on one atomiser thread will give you some idea of the suggestions:
Oh how I love this thread
We've gone from manual blowing, air in a can, kitchen paper poking, standing on end... and now we are in Nigella territory...
I'm waiting, after nearly 6 months of vaping, for one of mine to fail so I can set up Missus Beach's steamer/teapot/kettle/strainer.
I feel quite boring and no help at all to the folks with dead atomisers.....but if I ever get a failure...I'll know where to look for help!
good luck everyone.
It's my theory that when e-cigs started to get more popular, manufacturing standards slipped in order to keep up with demand.
I'm hoping that George will turn out to be a supportive supplier, too many of the eBay sellers are buying in a consignment of basic kits and selling them off for a quick profit, then their account goes very quiet. As George has created a website, branded his juices and sells spares separately, I think we can be hopeful.

Sorry for making you feel responsible
I am really glad of all the advice you have given so far. The ebay group is good but it's hard to find info without trawling through so thought I would just ask here. I thought it may be the battery so I charged the other one up and tried it still the same and I tried another cartridge still the same. I will try dripping the juice from the cartridge now as suggested. If that doesn't work I will e-mail the seller maybe I can send it back and get a replacement.
I really want to get it working because my boyfriend said it did slightly satisfy his craving and he has only smoked 15 cigarettes today instead of 30 so if it was working I think it would help him tremendously.
I will report back - thankyou0 -
Right I just tried squeezing some juice directly ontot the atomiser and then using - still barely any vapour but got a load of juice in my mouth yuk. I think it's def a dud I will get onto the seller for an exchange.0

Hi there - I was directed here from the ebay group :hello:. The metallic taste you are talking about is quite common with new vaporisers. I found it especially with ones I had bought separately which had been wrapped in bubble wrap. (actually I think it tastes more like rubber).
I have a super (RN4081) - not a mini - but I have found that one way to get your atomiser working is to steam it! This also helps with the horrible taste with new ones!
I actually use a double steamer pan (ex Xmas pud steamer) and stand the atomisers with the screw end (pin hole) down over a hole in the top part of the steamer. Then steam for about 6 minutes!
When it has cooled slightly - blow hard through the screw hole onto a piece of kitchen paper. This gets the gunk out if it is a much-used one - and also helps get rid of the funny taste if it is new. :cheesy:0 -
I am steaming it now - do I have to leave it till it's fully dry to try it. Sorry I am being a nuisance.0

Right that seemed to improve it but only ever so slightly. I can now get a bit off smoke but not much. I tried dripping juice onto atomiser again and it' still the same I am going to let boyfriend use it tomorrow to see if it gets better and if not I will e-mail the seller to see if I can exchange the atomiser. I am impressed though with it even in it's not 100% working state so I am quite positive about continuing with it.0

Thank you for my first thank you Minnie :-)
You really should be getting a fair bit of vape from your e-cig. When they are working properly they really are amazing :-)
I'm being really lazy as it's late for me so not read the whole thread yet. So not sure if veronarona or anyone else has mentioned that adding a drop of glycerine to an e-cig cartridge can add to how much vape you get from it.0 -
Yes I have seen that mentioned I will try it. I have ordered a spare atomiser then I can see how it compares to this one and if it's loads better i'll swap the other one so I have a spare. I def think it's a faulty one though after viewing youtube videos of people using the dse901. I also ordered some juice while I was there so I can try dripping it into the old cartridges. Fingers crossed it will be 2nd time lucky. I really want this to work.0

Its great to see some people on this thread with experience of e- cigs as the rest of us are complete newbies and just finding our feet with our e- cigs.
Ive had mine for just over a week now thought it was great at first but a couple of days ago it started going a bit funny - im getting a horrible liquid nictoine taste in my mouth and on my lips when i use it.(but still lots of vapour )- have tried lots of different cartridges and all the same so i thought id got a dud lot - tried to refill old cartridges with a couple of drops of liquid nicotine and got same result - is this a sign of the atomiser dying or something else ? Must point out that i bought the cheapest e-cig i could find so is it a case that you get what you pay for?
Thanks in advance for any advice.0
