Good job the film crew didn't turn up today.

Well done for being brave enough to let them in the first place! Nice to see that the show has made a difference to your lives and budgets, even if it was only to introduce you to this site.

Good luck with the potty training! ;)

I would hope the visit did more than just introduce to the site. I know Gary and Tracey made lots of savings afterwards. The key to the van, as discussed on the day was 'is it necessary'. The reason the ending is shown that way is the cameras are there for three days only (i am there the middle day) and it is important for TV to show a conclusion, so what is 'most likely' is shown.

Ultimately i hope we do some re-visiting. Do remember you see a 22 minute programme, i was actually at the house for a good 13 hours. We talk through many subjects on and off camera, what you see is the 'edited highlights for explanation and to make a point'. In reality i hope it is a thorough discussion and savings through all the issues

  • Wasn't it nice to see a regular, happy, loving, normal, caring, sharing, hard working, saving instead of spending, happy to listen to advice, well adjusted & friendly family on the TV instead of the ignorant wasters that seem to fill "lifestyle" type programmes.

p.s. if you appear on a lifestyle TV programme and you fall in to the category of "ignorant waster", that is the impression that you give - sorry if it offends you.

You really need to get Martin's book where you will find check lists of which help explain things you can do in one day or more complicated savings which will take longer.

Put it on your wish list for Christmas :xmassmile

what a treat. the people that buy cars without understanding apr's etc astounds me, and i'm not altogether money thick. i learned the hard way, and not that many years ago, and only because i'm self-employed.

if these programmes are going to touch on most money saving adventures, this was a good one i think. it was a lesson about reading t&c's, understanding apr's in relation to buying cars, especially new ones. i've lost a few grand in the past buying new, but ever again.

i won't ask why you didn't claim any benefits due because i haven't read all of the topic yet, but well done. you're a brave family, but a lucky one too :money: and i sure agree with murphy the cat's 1st paragraph.

Have you put in an appeal? Did you get help filling the forms in? You have a month to appeal from the date of the decision. Citizens Advice or other welfare benefits organisations can help with an appeal but you would need to contact them straight away.

That is what they are banking on. They say theres millions to be claimed, but they are hoping they make the system so hard for people to claim that they dont bother.

Nice to have you on board Gatra, and hope you will continue posting.
