I know ITV wanted the numbers to be as big as possible, but i feel that including the money "saved" by buying a second-hand car and not taking the offered finance shouldn't have been included as they weren't (in my eyes) "real" savings.
I think advice about shopping around, utilising the internet is great and informing people of the flat rate of interest on car loans is great too but the total was a little misleading in that they hadn't actually saved that money YET! Or am i misunderstanding something somewhere?
I am enjoying the shows though, and quite agree they should be longer and on at a better time, i have to keep recording it so as not to miss it!0 -
That jacuzzi was'nt plugged in!, the water was bubbling from the curry he had the night before!0

Another very interesting programme. I hope the mix of families is a good one across the whole series, but at a time of day and year when a lot of retired people will be watching the telly and interested in saving money wherever they can savings that are relevant to an income of £24k a year are perhaps not that relevant.
If golden oldies aren't given a money makeover in this series, then perhaps they could be considered for the next one. Dora (tin hat on and creeping quietly away from the board!)0 -

Even better - money saving on electricity usage!0 -
Yay, Martin in the tub! Pity this has been shown so late on in the year. Could have successfully marketed a MSE pin-up calendar - stripy shirts ON of course ;-), complete with money saving tips each month....Maybe even sold it as a combo with the new book! Maybe next year.....???0

I must say I used the budget palnner and it was very revealing, I'm running on more than I bring in at the moment, I din't include a variety of things, newspapers for example, we have 3 on a sunday, one will be dropped immediately, only £2 a month but it all adds up.0

Brightened up my day seeing you in the jacuzzi Martin!!
I thought this family was sweet - good to see a house husband with a income earning wife!Start every day by telling yourself how beautiful and intelligent you are0 -
Just to place a little note about the program, in it, it said the twins may have picked up Tracey's deafness.
This is not now the case, they have both just resently passed their hearing tests.
So we where very pleased about this.
People have been saying how clean and tidy the MMR peoples houses are.....If only they knew.....
Can you think how much mess a 20 month old can do with a full nappy if he takes it off and covers himself and his brother the carpet and the walls in the contents at 6am in the morning?
Good job the film crew didn't turn up today.
