Did you try closing your easy access account, or had you just left it? Reason I'm asking is, I closed mine and it was automatically re-opened when the funds bounced back due to Icesave going bust. Unfortunatley, when it was re-opened all previous transaction history has been lost (probably not on their system though, just on what I can view), which I think is going to cause problems for me when trying to reclaim the capital + interest due.

No, I didn't try closing any of the accounts. I hope your situation works out OK and that you get the interest you are due.

My fixed term account also had interest paid on the 10/10/08, so I assume this is will be the new "maturity" date. Pity they aren't allowing them to run to the original maturity date, but I can understand, makes it simpler to pay everyone at the same time.

No additional interest in my instant access account though..

PS no problems in logging in, all details shown, including e-mail address.

Just noticed they have updated my instant access account for interest.

My Instant Access account has now been updated too. It's fantastic to be able to see the amount of interest due and not feel it's just disappeared.

I must say how reassured I am by all this and if our monies get to us without a hitch then I will have to commend the government on doing a fantastic job for us retail depositors.
  • Phoned them adn they are in process of resetting my acct and password so fingers crossed. Thanks to all who helpedout here, this is a great place to be!!!!

Just checked my ISA and it has interest paid up to 10 Oct 2008 now! The figure seems too low though. By my calculations it's £11 short.

From my own instant access icesave interest added, and not that it is a big issue, but I think you will find that interest has only been added up to and including 7/10/08 even though the interest date is showing as 10/10/08.

I can say this with a good level of confidence because I keep a spreadsheet of my savings which cross checks the interest paid and it is always very close to the actual amount paid. To be absolutely precise if the only payment into icesave was £1,000 on 6/10/08 you are being paid 2 days interest i.e 6/10/08 and 7/10/08.
MSE. Abandon hope all ye who enter here :D
  • I have two fixed rate bonds. Showed nothing late last night but now showing interest added to the 1 year one but nothing on the 3 year one and nothing on Isa-totally confused by it all!
  • Strange, My wife has had interest added but I think she has been short changed. £35000 in a 1 year fixed rate originally maturing June 2009 now maturing 10/10/08 but she normally receives about £201.84 (6.51 per day) in months that have 31 days (gross as she is a non tax payer) but the amount for this month is only £19 16 for 7 or is it 10 days.
    Any ideas?

Mine has now been topped up with the interest up to closure.

I heard they're doing it in this order - everyone who moaned the FSCA were not moving quick enough or "Why isn't Martin personally repaying everyone who refused to take responsibility for their own decisons?" are going to the back of the queue, The rest of us are getting it back within the next few weeks.

Likewise now with mine today, all my Icesave accounts now show their interest added 10-10-08.

Good to see this has happened. So far so good...

Hope everyone with problems gets them sorted out in a few days, I'm sure it's only system glitches.
