    How?

They cant stamp their feet demanding money that someone hasnt got can they?

Take them to court?......... they still got no money

Hit them with a bat............same as!
Presumably the OP has a job, ...probably with a reasonable income too as these so called property investment clubs usually have at least some form of minimum income pre-requisites (I mean they only scam those who are worth scamming in the first place)

The debt can haunt someone for years and years bringing misery & heartache.
Now there is one way out...bankruptcy. Trouble is it's an easy word to say, but not so easy to live with no matter what some say.

    Hi,
Wonder what the chances are that these flats will never be completed?

Well to the Op I wish you the best with this. I have HATED all and everything that relates to hpi. Bored to the back teeth of`` I bought for this and it`s now worth....xxxxxx``.Idiots mewing for fancy holidays, pimp type cars , horrible people making property !!!!!! shows. On the other side ftbs not having a chance of entering the market, people looking like they are going to get repossesed as the economy has a down turn, the almost wrecked world economy mainly caused by securitisation.

Believe me I can understand how the Op has been sucked into all of this ghastly mess and there are many, many more folk out there like it. The whole thing has been a national fever. The amount of tosh I have heard/ seen as a result of hpi is staggering.

We aren`t talking a bout doing in a fiver on the gee gees we are talking about massive gambling with sums of money that are eye watering. Well I hope in a few years time we can get on with our lives with this issue well and truly buried.
  • I hope you can find a solution to this. Best of luck.

Whilst you may be agonising over your mid-week break to the Bahamas, and your imports of luxury goods from abroad, some of us are thankful for the lower exchange rate (GBP-USD is now closer to the long-term average than it has been for a long time) meaning job security due to improved export opportunities for goods made in this country.

Have you had a look at your local fuel station recently? Noticed which way fuel prices have been going? Expect gas & electricity to follow suit shortly (unless you were silly enough to have agreed to a fixed rate tariff)

Interest rates in this country are still higher than most of Europe and certainly higher than the US at present - so all that money you have in the bank will be earning you a handsome rate. I'm surprised you didn't max out and place it all in Icelandic accounts

Sure the fuel price is dropping... but this 'drop' is damped by the fact our pound is worth 25% in dollar value than it did 4-5 months ago.... Petrol will not return to its previous value unless the price per barrel reaches 20-30 bucks.

As our currency is devalued vs other currencies we will pay more for our imports... this is obvious... Our export capability has been dwindling over the years and now... the one stronghold... to maintain our quality of life is going down too.

But there is hope... we are not as bad as other countries as these too are experiencing recessions too... for instance the pound is gaining vs the Polish zloty... so time for a holiday to poland maybe?

I am trying not to think about bankruptcy. I dont want to see it as an option. The property club has took its finders fee and are now AWOL. Im seeing a solictor this week who will be able, hopefully, to tell me my realistic options. But im counting on a few rich kids who are viewing the site tonight. Hopefully they will agree to take it on.
At the time when i signed up for the properties i was in a slightly better position. Since the Tesco opened near my small corner shop, my business has gone down the drain, ive had to lay off my worker and doing 16 hour daily shifts.
BUt have to remain positive and that i shall.

They were meant to be complete by September, now the deadline is set to Feb.

Ah, amitabh1. This may well be to your advantage. There is a case going on down where I live. I know of a group of people trying to back out off an off plan deal. I think that they are using the past completion date as a get out. Worth looking into this.
