New Kaupthing CHAPS/BACS Transfers discussion - Friday 24th October

Had a call back from a team leader last night, first time I have received an open and honest (based on what he knew) communication.
The long and short of it was I have been told to wait for a call or secure message that my transaction has been traced and I would be wasting my time calling every 48 hours !

Also that ING want an end to this ASAP and it is going to take time.

Morning all

I had this theory last night as my linked account is Intelligent Finance which is not a clearing bank that my funds would show this morning after some sort of overnight processing update.....sadly I was proved wrong.

My secure message is showing complete (funds supposedly in by COB Thursday) and someone at KE said definately COB yesterday.... I shall make a phone call and like others wait for Monday!

Amazingly my 40K transfer arrived after my post yesterday evening - ie either late last night or this morning, without any call, e-mail or message, in spite of being told by ING that there was no prospect of my getting paid until next week if then. So it is possible that the post - which went against Martin's belief (in good faith) that everyone had been told they were getting their money on Monday - made the difference. This obviously isn't my real name but there was enough in the post for ING to identify me.

Anyway, I hope others have payments over the weekend (despite being told that was impossible) and thanks to everyone who have kept us all going through this forum in the last few weeks.

One last point to Dag on your criticism of those who withdrew money at that time. It wasn't necessarily a panic or run on the bank. In my case I was over the limt of savings unambiguously guaranteed at the time I made the transfer and I made the transfer to get myself below the limit. I was doing it anyway but didn't have another suitable savings account open at the time, and know I was slow, but it didn't appear critical until the weekend of 4/5 Oct. I still have money in a KE bond.

Just had a very disappointing phone call to ING. Apparently they are going to put a trace on the payment. I explained that this had already been done, that I had recevied a secure message and a phone call confirming my money had been traced and payment had been made. She just said they would look into it and let me know Monday or Tuesday. Now starting to get very angry.

Hang in there MumofThree, we are all routing for you and the others still waiting payment. It is depressing, stressful and you can't think of anything else ..... we know it's awful - I sent so many emails to the ING leadership they were probably cursing me but one did hit the spot with Alastair Hemmings so you could try that as a last resort. I only phoned once to get my name onto a spreadsheet, thereafter I bombarded ING with emails. Good luck for Monday :eek:

Thanks. I have just e-mailed Alastair Hemmings, copying in the secure message that says it's all been traced and will be paid. Let's wait to see if I get a reply....

Money finally received yesterday evening. Came totally out of the blue, as no prior phone call or email was received to advise that it was coming.

Fury please remove me from the list.

Thank you to everyone on this thread for all their helpful/supportive contributions. I'll be continuing to follow the thread until all have received their money. I'm confident that will be very soon now.

Hi, I was one off the lucky ones and got paid on 17/10 after requesting my money on 09/10.

Anyhow I just logged into my account which I cleared and found that I have an interest payment for what looks to be the first nine days.
