New Kaupthing CHAPS/BACS Transfers discussion - Friday 24th October

The following has just been published on Kaupthing...
PAYMENTS UPDATE:
Outstanding payments:
We are still working through the remaining backlog of delayed payments and once again apologise for the continued delay which is affecting a small number of customers. When Kaupthing Edge was placed into Administration it meant that all payments in the banking system were stopped and this has caused significant disruption, delays and complexity. Most of the outstanding payments relate to the time just before the company was taken into Administration and are unfortunately taking longer to resolve. Our team at Kaupthing Edge is working over the weekend to clear payments as quickly as possible.
Monthly interest credit:
We would like to advise all customers that the monthly interest credit for October will not appear on your account until 2nd November. However, there will be no loss of interest incurred by this delay. [/font]
Interest adjustment where transactions were delayed:
We are still working through the interest rate adjustments on accounts where transactions were delayed as a result of the bank being taken into Administration.
Refund of CHAPS fees:The majority of CHAPS refunds have now been processed and are showing on customers accounts. We expect to complete this process next week. If you have any further queries relating to your account please contact our Customer Services team on 08451 31 32 34.
I had a rather interesting chat this morning iwth ING and it certainly shows this thread is being monitored, by both ING and the adminstrators (hiya if you're reading this).
The messsage that came through to me, that I will pass through unfiltered is that there's frustration on all sides both ING as the info isn't come to them, and the administrators who are trying to sort through a mass of data that was simply ported from Kaupthing as was. There's a sense there that "this is unprecedented, and they are all working though unchartered territory."
As I say, Im not filtering or interpreting it - more passing it on.
My response was "sounds very interesting, why doesn't someone tell people about it, keeping these things quiet and pretending its all smooth makes things worse, be open with problems being encountered and people feel more comfortable as at least they understand a process is being worked through!" And hopefully be reiterating that message hear, it'll get through even more so...

To all the people still waiting, it seems to me that annoying the hell out of them and continually phoning and complaining to all that will listen is getting results. Though I'm sure many of you out there have been doing just that with the usual lack of response. No more offshore banking for me :rolleyes:0

I guess after 24 days I need to be more patient (not) and wait till "Close of Business!0

AT LONG LAST!!! IT'S ARRIVED: BACS OUT 8 OCT IN LINKED ACCOUNT AT LLOYDS TSB 31 OCTOBER 4.30 pm.
Now all I have to worry about is the other £20k they are sitting on in Fixed term
Sent email yesterday to Johan De Wit - court action unless!
Usual follow up phone call 1.0pm today they said they would trace it (yeh yeh yeh sure!)
I just don't know if it is just coincidence or not. But I firmly believe that this Forum has had a hell of a lot to do with it.
ING said they were following the thread and they must have a swingin' brick for a heart if they have not been moved by what has been posted here.
I thank you all for your combined efforts and I will also be logging in daily until the last one of us has been reunited with his/her savings. God luv ya!

I have spoken to Alistair Hemmings today of ING Direct who was genuinely very helpful. He explained the problem in more detail then I had recieved from anybody so far. I'm now hoping that I should receive my money by Monday [CHAPS requested 7th October].
I've just checked my account and it's still not there yet but fingers crossed for Monday [not going to have a totalling relaxing weekend unfortunately!]. I have also emailed Maggie Mills of the Administrators for good measure.
Congrats to all those who have their money buy yourselves a well earned beer!0 -

Guess I must have been one of the lucky ones. When KE went tits up, naturally I panicked like everyone else. Once the Government had given KE to ING I started to calm down as I already had an account with ING. Transfers which had been going from my bank account to KE had of course, ceased due to the ING takeover. However, come the previous deadline ING had promised for everything to be sorted out, everything started to move and all my late transactions cleared.
For me, the KE account is my Stoozing depository and I make quite a few BACS transactions on a daily basis. I can confirm that for my account at least, money has been moving BOTH ways within a 2-3 working day period. I guess the Dutch God's must have looked on me favourably or something....
By all appearances at least on my account, normal operations have resumed, so I'm quite happy to take the generous interest rate until ING pull the plug on it - which no doubt they will. But until that day comes my money's staying with KE
My only niggling worry now is if ING go down the pan. Having said that, who can rely on any of the banks these days? Are they all just a day away from disaster?0 -
Glad to hear money is coming through. As everyone seems to be being told end of play monday. Im going to come and look again on Tuesday and hopefully this will be empty, everyone will have had their money, and off to do other things.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
