  • To be honest, your blase, emotionless reaction is A LOT more disturbing.

Seriously. You're a very odd individual.

We've potentially had all our money stolen from us.

If that doesn't make you angry, you're the one who needs help, luv.

Maybe a moment of reflection on your knees to God may change your views on life.
I will ask God to help you.
  • There is too much anger in this thread. Please let us all give a thought to the people of Iceland and everyone else caught up in a sad situation

I have to repeat myself there is no evidence that the money has been 'stolen' which is a criminal action, a bank has defaulted due to misjudgements and nothing further to date has been established.

Strangely your bland words just make me even angrier, so perhaps you should stop.

I have been denied access to my own money. I am currently losing interest daily on money that has been denied me.

I was promised by some here today gone tomorrow politician that no one would lose any money. That was a false promise.

Excuse me if I feel emotions that are slightly stronger than *shrug* ah well, never mind, let's wait some more shall we?

Those who are very angry should perhaps be going to anger management classes or inventing jokes. I saw a good one on this site - it was a suggestion that 'we burn their igloos'.

hmmm.... in which case, why did you Thank them for it? :D

TBH I don't think you will get much support for that; until we get our money back, would you feel benevolent to burglar who stole your money, most of us here did not save our cash with a view to help bail out a hard up country we did not gamble our cash we saved it in a bank registered in the UK with all the usual guarantees and we were promised that our savings were 100% safe, most of us feel that we have been mugged and robbed!
Is it any wonder that we are angry with Iceland!

....My understanding was that Darling said that no depositor would lose anything re Icesaver. Ok I take that to mean I will not lose anything including interest. I was also given to understand that the UK govenment would repay us Icesavers as soon as posible and THEN recoup the money from Iceland. We should not have to worry about who said what to whoem and reports in the papers.....just give us our bl**ding money back pdq......

Again, it should be stressed that the Icelandic Prime Minister told Alastair Darling that his country had no intention of honouring EU law by paying us back our money.

In other words, they intend to break European law. A criminal action.

You do grasp that simple fact, don't you?
  • Yes lets not get angry. Peace and love to our brothers and sisters in Iceland. When the money comes back lets all donate 10 percent to charities in aid of north sea cod and Icelandic bankers.

Anyway if anyone is really desperate for cash because of waiting for compensation from the ICESAVE default perhaps Martin Lewis will give them a loan out of all the click through income he got promoting ICESAVE accounts.

Could you ask God whether he can smite Iceland and get my money back?

    Thanks.
