Cleaning mouldy bath mat
Comments

If you are talking about the nonslip rubber/plastic mats as opposed to towelling bathmat then I always rinse out the bath with clean water and hang the plastic mat up to dry after showering each day it takes but a minute and means no mould..
I've had my mat for about 4 yrs and its still like new#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I have one that I paid a daft amount of money for as it was from Mothercare, a kids one that tells you when the water is too hot/cold. I only use it when the girls are in the bath, then I try to remember to rinse it off and then I stick it onto the tiled wall above the bath to drip dry lol.
It does still get a bit mouldy though, I tend to ignore it in the colder months and in the spring/summer I take it out into the garden, put it on the floor and douse it in bleach and a few hours later I blast it with the hosepipe. I realise this might seem a bit unusual....:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

I never washed mine on its own, I slung it in with the towels or whatever washing went on, I always had one in use, and one in the wash. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Sometimes yes sometimes no, and a quick wipe with one of the facecloths the girls have used in the bath gets rid of those:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

hi all
i buy cheap bath mats(for in the bath) and replace often
how do you all clean your bath mats. i maybe wouldnt change them so often if i found a good way of cleaning and easy lol
last night i used cilit bang and a cloth, made no difference to the pink bits
is bleach the only way to go?
I don't clean my rubber bath mat, I hang it up to dry and it never gets mouldy.
My bath has two handles, mid way between the taps and bath end.
I've fitted two white plastic ends/elbows into a length of white plastic pipe to create a bar which slots into the bath handles and lies across the bath. When I've finished showering, I put the pipe back on the handles inside the bath, then I hang the shower mat over it to drain and dry off.
Here is a link to an elbow/end...............and they fit into the ends of the plastic pipe:

When I use the bath, I remove the pipe.................and when I've finished, I put the pipe back on the bath and hang the shower mat over it.

Mats can easily become dirty. When cleaning your mat take it to bathroom and use a scrub brush with warm water and dish washing soap to clean it.0
