If there was nothing for you to think that you had not won two prizes, which by the sounds of your first post it certainly looks as if you've won twice, then they are bang out of order. If they had come to you within a day or so saying this was an error then fair enough you had chance to not spend the money, etc., as the cheque would not have cleared.

What was the date when they first contacted you?

It's their error so they should not be treating you the way they were and they should be putting down to a loss caused by their poor admin. I would take it to the press, especially in light of your situation you don't need the added stress of something like this.

I am totally disgusted by it and I know everyone else who hears about it will be as well.

How awful. How DARE a mega rich company like ITV hound someone for the paltry sum of £750. It's nothing to them is it? Most companies would accept their error and allow the winner to keep the second payment as a gesture of goodwill. It's not like ITV couldn't afford to do so is it?

It sounds like you've been insensitively by ITV. Have you tried contacting the ISP? It might be worth telling them what you've told us.

As there was a month between you receiving the cheque and them asking for it back I think they are being unreasonable, it was their mistake after all and they should take some responsability for it.

i cant think which comp had a £750 prize other than real deal, and that comps prize changed daily depending on the item.
So if it is real deal i dont think u can use the line u entered twice as u wont find 2 days prizes the same on that show, so they might hold that against u itms xxx

i think you should pay it back
if the bank/employer paid money in your bank by mistake u would have to pay that back so cant see any difference

I was thinking along the same lines Toni - Real Deal had a £750 back on 19.08 but it was one of the lower prize ones, there doesn't seem to be another of the same amount around the same time.

Do ITV not phone you to give you the good news?? Most winners here have reported phone calls.

I don't think I would believe I had been so lucky! I would have checked first, but that's in the past so I guess I would pay it back but would like to think ITV would maybe allow you to keep it as it was their error.
