Thats awful :( How could they make such an error? I hope you get it sorted out x

ETS: Maybe you should go to the press with it? (Or at least threaten to) with all the fuss over the TV comps at the moment I think they'd bite your hand off - and maybe even pay you for it? Just a thought...

I cant offer you any advise legally except to say this seems very unfair, surely they cannot demand the money back and will have to swallow their own mistake..
I sure some clever MSE'rs will be able to help you with proper advice!

Do the letters say on which date/s you won?

Did you enter the comp on 2 different dates? (If yes, can you prove this?)

If you did enter twice then you would naturally think you'd been really lucky and won twice - if you only entered once then you could only win once, if you get what I mean.

I hope you get it sorted out soon.

That is awful - As above I would go to the citizens advice, and tell the tv company you are seeking legal advice on this. You should only have any further contact with them in writing as it will safeguard you. Personally I would formally complain to them and make one hell of a fuss (but thats me lol)
And as said above ultimately you could go to the press - ITV have suffered greatly with their competitions lately and sending a debt collector to collect money you have 'won' will make them look terrible.
Good luck. Congratulations on your wins.
    Total 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000

The remittance that the cheques are attached to both state different dates issued & different reference numbers

Yup - they are saying the second one is a mistake, it's the date the prize was processed, not the date of the comp (or comps) that you won unfortunatley.

Any chance you can prove you entered twice?
