So why do you think, Groovygirl, that the OP has been banned?

Have you not read the Tesco Coupon policy that I have posted on numerous occasions in this thread?

Even if it is the policy - it's still taking the p1ss!

    Hold on, I'm confused again.
You have been using two coupons a week. The store's limit is two coupons a week.
Presumably that is why they have lifted the ban.
Did you get a really big appology from them for wrongly accusing you?

I'd take this further if I were you. If you've got your receipts to prove you've only been using two then I would kick up a stink. Contact head office, go to the local paper, etc.

When they lifted the ban, did they say what they thought you had done wrong?

Agreed, but it is Tesco taking them that is taking the p rather than the people using them.

I would say both are, really!

Two wrongs don't make a right, either.

But most vouchers state that they can only be used for the item they were intended for, not for anything from the shop. If the vouchers state Heinz beans you buy beans, you don't buy packs of paper.

Does Tesco policy make the manufactures policy worthless?

Good question. Which policy stands higher?

I haven't been giving exact details to try and protect myself and the store in question. I do not want to reveal my identity, as making my story known on here may limit what actions I can take.

I did not receive a 'big' apology, just basically a sorry for the misunderstanding, and said it was due to a communication breakdown, and it will get investigated.

My communication with the Customer Service has been escalated to Head Office and the area manager, so hopefully this whole coupon issue will be investigated and the stores made aware of what they should be sticking to.

I would be fuming if I were you. How could they "misunderstand" someone using two coupons a week for someone committing mass coupon fraud?

Be sure to come back here when it's all done and dusted and give us fuller details!

Incedentally, will you be using a clubcard from now on, to help protect yourself from something similar in the future? I must say that that's the one thing that to me suggested wrongdoing.

A 'sorry' isn't enough. It would need to be a BIG apology for me. Being banned from the store, refused a conversation by the manager how many times? Not to mention the humiliation when the event took place, and then we have all of the staff informed of your 'banning'.

I'd write a very nasty letter - not asking for compensation, but showing your distress and asking them to try and review policies at that store. Coupon use and its limitations needs to be made clear to the staff AND to teh consumer via the written word (even if just on a board in the shop) and the people who 'dealt' with you (name if you can) need re-training, or something.
