At Tesco, I bet zey have ways of making you happy..
nope quite the opposite, they make you depressed this way is called senior management!
  • I am appalled at the way the OP was 'spoken to' in the beginning of this thread! Blimey - really quite shocking, afterall they are not doing anything that has not already been highlighted as a method of saving money elsewhere on this site. What about all the people who take advantage of mis-priced items? Or those who go into Boots spend enough to get their Pinkies, then go back and do the same again etc etc. I think you have treated the OP really unfairly.

That aside I would do a number of things DailyClicks:

    1. Get your information absolutely water tight and write it all down in terms of what their terms & conditions/policies are in regard to coupons.

    2. Once you are happy that you are 100% confident with your information and that you did absolutely nothing else wrong other than use the coupons incorrectly - go to the Press!

    3. In the meantime - shop at Asda!

    HTH!
  • I think the easiest solution is NOT to use a self service checkout???

You could always write to the team director (Like the area director) and ask them for reasoning.
  • You could always just shop at another supermaket. problem solved.

I recently handed in a '25p off when spending more than £1 on Tesco cleaning products clubcard coupon' which the checkout operators till rejected because my washing up liquid was not classed as a 'cleaning product', and the cream cleaner I had bought was less than £1.

I had the same problem when they didn't class my cucumber or potatoes as veg. I went to the Customer Service counter and she said "it's only 25 points it's not as if it's £5 worth2 I said tough and got my 25 points.

I've been thinking about this, and it's the Clubcard bit that's getting to me.

You are quite happy to use a manufacturers coupon (that you have to go to the hassle of printing out, etc) to get them to subsidise your shopping when you don't buy their products, but you thought to use a Clubcard as well would be asking too much?
I find this hard to believe.

is the real reason that you don't use a Clubcard the fact that you don't want Tesco to see what you have been doing? Is this a regular ploy of people who use coupons?
If you had have used a Clubcard all this time, do you think Tesco would have seen something they didn't like?

Nothing you have done is an excuse for the way that they haven't told you what their issue is, but it seems to me that you know you have been doing something very close to, if not overstepping, the line.
We're here to help you. We don't know who you are, so it doesn't matter if you tell us the truth. If you've done something illegal then you may get slated for it, but so what. There's no point in a bunch of people you don't know being all supportive because you've only told half the story.

So come on, why do YOU honestly think you have been banned? And to what extent are you guilty of what you think they are accusing you of?

In this thread how many people go take unclaimed clubcard receipts to customer services they find on floor/end of checkouts?

Some people have come on here saying "I can't believe how people are speaking to the op after what Tesco have done". It's so obvious what has happened. There is a massive amount the op isn't telling us, I can't believe some people are so I don't mean to be rude but the only word I can think of is gullable.

The few lines I've quoted above say it all. There is a lot more to this than what we've been told.

I've gotbetter things to do than scour the floor for a few pence worth of clubcard vouchers.

When I used Tesco online, I did used to search on here for online voucher codes (or free delivery codes) to use as I traded my vouchers in for a holiday. Is that the same thing in your eyes?
