I have had trouble with A&L FPs too. I made 2 holiday accomodation rental deposits this year and both failed as FP. Last Friday I paid EDF Energy and it still hasn't been credited to my leccie account. All were less than £250. I have also found that one off payments are taking 4 working days in many cases whereas the ones coming in only take 3.
    So much for improved Banking.

Could have been in these cases that the recipient didn't support FP.
But still, damn unreliable service. Forced me to stop using A&L as my current account.

Yes. It's one of the reasons I want to leave them already. Thanks to this farce of a system, coupled with a total balls up of my own, I have been unable to get money into our joint account in time to meet lots of DDs.

My two months with A&L has cost me more than Halifax ever did, and to think I moaned about them :D

I've probably been one of the most tolerant of A&L and its peculiarities, but I finally started the switch to another bank last month after a year of waiting for their FP limit to be increased at least to something more sensible. I'll be making my reasons for closing my account perfectly clear when the time comes.

Was the £100 the first payment you sent after setting up the payee?

I have found that the very first payment you make to a new payee always goes via BACS.

Subsequent payments if £250 or less will go by FP.

How long does it usually take via BACS? I made 2 payments yesterday after setting up the payees which still haven't gone through yet (supposedly via the FP system).
Total debt at lightbulb moment (Jan 2010): £23410
    Target for Dec 2011: £17000
    Lloyds - Early Jan: £[STRIKE]2040[/STRIKE] Feb: £[STRIKE]2050[/STRIKE] Mar: £0
    Other Lloyds @ highest: £9800 Feb: £9800

    Current debt: £23420

BACS payments normally take 3 to 4 days - depending I think on the time that you set up the payment. In my experience A&L don't seem to send BACS payments till the end of the day in question rather than at the start.

OK. Thanks for the response. I was a little worried when I didn't see the payments into the accounts :)
