I had a good day at Boots today. OH gave me £25 to see what I could get for the Support Our Soldiers parcels and I think I did quite well.

I already had managed to accumulate seven pinkies (and 250 No.7 mens voucher) so decided to go to Glasgow St Enoch's as I know they give out till spits.

    First shop:

    4 x Mitchum roll ons

used 4 50% vouchers leaving £1.00 to pay - receive 12 points and a TS

I went to the electrical desk and it was lovely young girl who served me and was quite happy to key in the codes on the voucher as they wouldn't scan.

    2nd shop

    1 x No.7 Shave Gel : £6.50
    1 x No.7 Body and Hair Wash : £6.50
    1 x No.7 Face Wash : £0.00 (3 for 2)
    1 x GWP
    2 x Mitchum : £3.50

    Used 1 x TS, 1 x pinkie, 2 x Mitchum 50% 1 x 250 Points

Paid £3.50, received 274 points and another TS

I decided to go back to the smae girl at with this shop to see if she would take the TS and the pinkie - she was delighted with what I got for my money and wanted to know how long it took me to work it all out. I just told her it was my friends that told me?!!!

I asked if she would mind if I did the same again - she said no - leave your bag here and just come back when your are ready. I went and filled my basket with enough stuff to do the same another six times.

She even helped me by opening my GWP for me and taking out the 250 points each time and I used each of the till spits for the following set I was buying

My total spend ended up at £25.50 and I gained 1942 points on OH's card (which only had about 1200 points on it to start with)

I decided to spend these points on 12 lip salves, 8 talcum powders, 8 cotton buds, 6 packs of 10 razors, 2 packs of paracetemol (that was all they would let me have), 4 x triple packs of rennie chewables.

I thought I did quite well for only going 50p over budget.

The only thing I forgot about was the weight of the bags I now had to carry home on the bus!!!!

And so the service women aren't left out I have got an enormous bag full of ladies toiletries from the stash under my bed from previous Boots glitches.

  • Hey all :hello:

Got my student payments the other week, and have been desperately trying to save and be a good student but went to boots today and couldn't resist getting a few bits ;)

I wanted the estee lauder GWP and the S&G GWP and to use the 750pts coupon a friend gave me so I did this:

x1 EL tender lip balm £11
x1 EL take it away make up remover wipes £17
    x1 EL GWP
x1 S&G the fab pore 15 min facial peel £5.00
    x1 S&G endless glove £4.50
    x1 S&G heel genius £5.00
    x1 S&G self activating facial exfoliator £7.99
    x1 S&G GWP

    Total: £50.49
    Points: 200

Then used: 750pts wyb EL, Lancome, or Clinique (one to be skincare), 250pts wys £30 acm, 350pts wys £40 mailing voucher, 450pts wys £50 mailing voucher, and double points coupon - they ALL worked

    So...

    Total spend: £50.49
    Total Points: 2200 :D

Best of all it was things I actually wanted!!! I know you are all thinking I should have done it at a xmas evening to get an extra 1000pts but I couldn't make it plus I don't think I would have been allowed all the coupons ;)

    I am really pleased :):)

    Wow that's a good shop :T

Please let me know what the estee lauder wipes are like as I used to use the clinique ones before they were discontinued and I really liked them.
    TIA.

    Thanks for your post Anic...

I had thought of getting sweets, crisps, nuts, etc but my OH and his friend arranged between them that rather than us getting the same stuff, she should get the "edibles" and he said I would get the toiletries "as Anic is quite good in Boots!!!!!"

I wonder where he gets that idea from! Could it be the fact that the drawers undeneath my bed are so filled to capacity that I now have to climb over the boxes of stash at the side to actually get into my bed!!
  • Can anyone confirm the definite date for No7 GWP please. I was told by my helpful SA on Friday that it was November but now someone saying its December aargh

Polls, is the GWP free wys £15? If so is it 1432 points recognised as before 1/3 off IYSWIM. Also there is a £2 off glossy S&G coupon (?from GWP) as I wombled one from the floor at the Trafford Centre (not in Boots btw just on the mall) ;):D

Yes the GWp is wys £15 or over.

It takes the value of the items before the reductions. So I could actually have got it with the body butter and the clean on me, but was too excited to think about it at the time.

My total spend was 1432 which is under the £15 limit, so it has to be based on the total before the reductions, to meet the £15 threshold. May go back tomorrow for more:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No voucher in the box though, drat:p :p

EDIT, just noticed that Claire spotted this already :j
