Sorry - didn't see this post before I just posted.
Tesco have said I'll get mine in May. I'm a bit cross really0 -
THIS IS SERIOUS I have just come off the phone to Tesco Finance because I did not get the clubcard points for opening my online Saver Account. I spoke to a lady (I have her name and told her I would give this info in the forum) and she told me :
1. Applications made BEFORE 18 Nov would get clubcard points
2. Applications made BEFORE 8 Jan would get the 12 month 1.5% Bonus but NO clubcard points.
I queried this and she told me that you don't get both! She also told me that the information on this website is often wrong and that only Tesco have accurate information !!!
She also told me that I was not by any means the only customer who has queried this
SO who is right please N.B phone call took 11 minutes

I hadnt received my clubcard points on my Feburary statement either. I have just phoned Tesco and was told they will be awarded at the end of February and available on the next statement. There was no mention of the incentive being either/or points or bonus interest.
I am certain there was no mention of this back when I opened the account in October but I dont have a copy of Tesco's conditions. Perhaps someone else may have, as you have got me worried now !!!
I am certain there was not an option given to select when you opened the account, and I am sure everyone would have been shouting on here if there was, so how do they decide which option they were going to give you, or do they just toss a coin. I am sure anyone who deposited £50,000 on the back of this incentive and only got 2000 clubcard points rather than the £750 interest @1.5% bonus rate would soon have something to say LOL
From past experience it is more often customers services that are wrong and Martin is normally right, so lets hope he was in this instance as well.0 -
I love my Tesco account.
Application was a bit of a nightmare with all the faffing about, but worth persevering. If you have got the bonus, it is the best instant access interest rate available at the moment. Internet banking is easy and straight forward and the card reader is only needed to set up the inital payee and not for every transaction as required by the Nationwide.
The BIG bonus is allowing you to make Faster Payments for large sums, ideal for funding my new Halifax Current Reward Accounts.:D
I just wish you could set up standing orders on the account but not many savings accounts allow you to do that anyway.0 -
I have got the reader all I am waiting for is the PIN number now then I will be able to use it fully.0

How long do you have to wait for the registration code?
I opened an account on the 6th January and still can't use my account.
This is the worst savings account I've ever known.0 -
I applied for my account last July with just £1.00 cheque to open and it took 6 weeks from application until I could access my account online. I then transferred all my money across not realising I needed a card reader before I could draw it out again. I received the card and pin number in about 2 weeks but the reader took 6 more weeks to come through, Tesco fobbing me off with problems with the manufacture of the reader. Wish I had known then that I could have used the reader from one of my other banks !!! Once it was up and running I have had no problems whatsoever and find it one of the easier accounts to operate online (after you negotiate your way through the site to find log in)
OH opened an account in November to take advantage of the clubcard points and probably because we were aware of the potential hassle, opening that account didnt seem so bad.0 -
Hello. I received my clubcard statement and not showing the number of points I expected from opening the Tesco account. Gave them a call only to be told that the deadline was the end of November. Anyone else had a similar experience? Also my wife opened an account at the same time and so far no points at all!0

When should I test the card and reader to make sure it works? I have not got the pin yet but it is bound to be a matter of time. My experience with them has not been that bad. They do have a bad website and no email to ask even basic questions like most banks.0

TESCO account is excellent. Within days of opening I was able to make some deposits. Since getting my card reader about 6 weeks after opening account, I have made further deposits from savings I had elsewhere. Totally trouble free.
Why do some people open an account, presumably for the excellent interest rates, and then want to move it again.Mortgage free
Vocational freedom has arrived0 -
It is an instant access account and as current account rates a joke people put money in the instant access account in the hope of getting a decent return when they don't need the money.0
