I have phoned Tesco Personal Finance several times over the months it has taked to set up my account and they have confirmed to me that the cut off date for clubcard point qualifying balances was definately extended to 31st December.

They have had some issues getting the points on to some clubcards and if you didn't get your points and feel you should have done I recommend phoning them up. Mine didn't go onto my card for Feb but after phoning them up I now have my points showing on my clubcard.

    Hope this helps someone :D
  • Tried to ring Tesco about my missing points, but got nowhere, sitting in endless queues, and being told by each person that I got through to that it wasn't anything to do with them, and then being transferred on to someone else.

Finally gave up and decided to write to them.

Got a letter a week later apologising and saying my 1500 points had been added to my clubcard (which they have). No explanation offered, and of course I now have to wait till May to get the vouchers, but I am just glad I don't have to keep wasting time over this new account. Everything is finally sorted and working, What a long haul !

    Very similar position here.

Points not added/showing at all for some reason. Wrote in to complain. They rang me up and have added the points which will now appear in my May statement.

If you are intending to use the points before May they do have the facility to take the points off and issue a gift card for the relevant offer. In my case I have got the contact details of the person who is dealing with the complaint who I need to call if I want this to happen.

They have written to confirm this. The relevant paragraph is "To confirm, I have requested to have 1500 points credited to your account with immediate effect which would normally be available to you on your May statement. As discussed if you require vouchers for any clubcard deal before May, please contact me and I will make arrangements with Tesco clubcard to have these sent to you"

Can anyone confirm what the current rate on this account is? Am I right in thinking it's 1.75% but there's also 1.5% bonus for a year, i.e. 3.25%?

That is right for the internet saver account. The bonus is a 12 month bonus for people who opened their account before 7 January.

To check if you get the bonus log into your account and check what was paid as interest on 31st March. If you are getting the bonus you will see there are two interest additions (one being the bonus). If you are not there will be only one addition.

Just noticed basic rate of interest was cut to 1.5% on 16th April, making the rate with the 1.5% bonus now 3%. .
  • Took 6 months to get the account up and running correctly. Still no Points. Took my money out as soon as I could as I have no faith in Tesco Finance at all. I would rather invest in a supposedly incompetent bank who stick to their promises!!!

    Stay well away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yep afraid so, dropped on 16th april i think, if people qualify for the bonus, its still not too bad compaired to some, and despite the nightmares i had setting it up, the fast payments etc have been great
