Icesave compensation payouts... how to keep the pressure up
Comments
-
Both myself and my wife are still waiting for our 2nd e mail - we both have ISAs totalling circa £50k. We aren't worried in the slightest as I know we'll be fully refunded in a matter of days. I think that what the FSCS has achieved in a relatively short period of time has been nothing short of brilliant and they should be commended for that. Pity the poor investors with Icesave in Gurensey and the I. of M. who are likely to lose nearly everything and yet this thread seems to have so many disgruntled people who seem upset that they haven't yet been refunded.
I also have an ISA with ICESAVE and haven't received the 2nd email, (Checking my spam folder daily!) perhaps they are processing ISAs in the last batch. If I log onto my ICESAVE account there is an option to begin the process, however I don't think I should because if I trigger the claim too early it may delay things in the long run, so I will wait till the last day of Nov, and if I still haven't received the email I will call them...0 -

I'd be interested in where you acquired your 50,000 figure from  , and your error is thinking that they've promised 100% repayments by the end of November. They haven't:

They mention it three times - I cannot think how you managed to miss this fact. Other than deliberately ignoring it that is.
Where did i say i thought the FSCS would pay 100% of claims by the end of November? There are 230000 accountholders with Icesave. There are 5 working days left in November to hand back money to the vast majority of savers.
Do you think they will meet that target?
Im not deliberately ignoring anything.0 -

No, but I think you are misreading it! From the 21/11/08 update...
"FSCS remains on track to offer compensation to the vast majority of Icesave customers in November."
So the vast majority will get their 2nd email by end of November. It may be early December by the time the money reaches your nominated account.0 -

Disappointingly, I haven't got my email or money yet either, but considering that we're likely to get it within two months of Icesave going bust, and that we could quite easily have been left to fend for ourselves direct with Iceland (and how long would THAT have taken?!), then let's be thankful for small mercies, eh?0 -

Point me to the place on the FSCS website where it states forms will be sent after the 4th Dec. There is much debate on when these forms will be sent, i have been told by the FSCS that the forms will be sent ONLY after the bond matures, irrespective of the date the 2nd email arrives. However, other posters have been told that the forms will be sent after invitation to initiate. The FSCS have not communicated this well. Its hearsay. Thats all.
Do YOUR research before getting aboard your high horse.
As for the FSCS promise to get people their money by the end of November, they have 6 working days left in the month after today for me to get my 2nd mail and receive the transfer/or apply via paper form (which, yes i know will take up to 6 weeks thanks). Theyre cutting it a bit fine id say, and by the sounds of it, theyve got another 100,000 or so to work through.
We are being spun.
Thankyou for your concern.
I totally agree 100%0 -

That's exactly my sentiments as my earlier posting.:T0 -
Both myself and OH have 2 ISA's each with icesave, under the same email address. He has received both emails, and has had the money refunded to his bank account no problem, I haven't received an email for mine, when I log on I see it says 'initiate' but then tells me to wait for my email. After reading a few of your comments, I take it I am not to worry??0
