  • We are towards the end of week 3 of November, i still dont have my 2nd email.
They are not keeping their promises. FACT!!
Where did they promise that you'd get your second email by November 20th?

What on earth are you talking about? They are doing what they said they would, it's just that you are incapable of reading and understanding simple instructions.

If you want to use the paper process, you don't "initiate" the online process. It's either/or. As has been repeatedly stated, they will send out paper forms after the 4th December to anyone who has not successfully completed the online process. The 6 weeks is the turnaround time they're aiming for the paper forms - i.e. from when you send them back to when you get your money (assuming it's owing and not e.g. an un-matured fixed rate bond).

    I understand the process thanks.
Point me to the place on the FSCS website where it states forms will be sent after the 4th Dec. There is much debate on when these forms will be sent, i have been told by the FSCS that the forms will be sent ONLY after the bond matures, irrespective of the date the 2nd email arrives. However, other posters have been told that the forms will be sent after invitation to initiate. The FSCS have not communicated this well. Its hearsay. Thats all.
Do YOUR research before getting aboard your high horse.

As for the FSCS promise to get people their money by the end of November, they have 6 working days left in the month after today for me to get my 2nd mail and receive the transfer/or apply via paper form (which, yes i know will take up to 6 weeks thanks). Theyre cutting it a bit fine id say, and by the sounds of it, theyve got another 100,000 or so to work through.
    We are being spun.
    Thankyou for your concern.

They didnt, but im prepared to bet there will be over 50,000 people without their money at the end of the month. Theyve only done just about half and they only have 6 working days left in November.

Feel free to point out any errors, ive got my FACTS from the FSCS website. Cheers.;)

The 20th Nov. is a FACT then. Please indicate where on the FSCS website that little gem came from?

So they haven't broken a promise then? Stop with the hyperbole already.

I'd be interested in where you acquired your 50,000 figure from  , and your error is thinking that they've promised 100% repayments by the end of November. They haven't:

    5. How will FSCS decide who can claim when?

The electronic payment system started on 8 November 2008.We are phasing the process as we said and plan to pay the vast majority of depositors during November.

    7. Will all savers have their money back before Christmas?

We plan to offer compensation to the vast majority of depositors during November.

    10. When will I receive the second email from FSCS?

The second email correspondence from FSCS has already started to be sent out and some compensation payments have already gone through. We are phasing the process and plan to offer compensation to the vast majority of depositors during November.

They mention it three times - I cannot think how you managed to miss this fact. Other than deliberately ignoring it that is.

????? What a very mature response.
  • Both myself and my wife are still waiting for our 2nd e mail - we both have ISAs totalling circa £50k. We aren't worried in the slightest as I know we'll be fully refunded in a matter of days. I think that what the FSCS has achieved in a relatively short period of time has been nothing short of brilliant and they should be commended for that. Pity the poor investors with Icesave in Gurensey and the I. of M. who are likely to lose nearly everything and yet this thread seems to have so many disgruntled people who seem upset that they haven't yet been refunded.
  • Has any body with more than £50000 in an account been paid back ?

Yes, but it wasn't me. I remember a mention of £250,000+ on another thread. Sorry I can't give details.
