Yes if you look at the original post it tells you that.
"You are allowed broadband with this line rental, unlike BT's older social tariffs. However you can't use override providers with it. "
Also if she had Sky Talk when she applied for BT Basic she would not have got BT Basic in first place.
You cant expect BT to provide cheap line rental and then you place your calls elsewhere.0 -
My elderly father just got his quarterly phone bill through and he's still being charged on the Light user scheme. Am I missing something here? Hasn't the LUS been scrapped? I note he's not on a qualifying benefit for the basic scheme so I've been on the lookout to see what BT do with him - he insists on a paper bill so he's gonna get royally shafted (compared to before, of course) if they put him on the 'normal' scheme - so I will then look for pastures new.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

Maybe if you are already on LUS you just stay on it ???0 -
Anyone know about this ?
Thanks0 -
Hi all,
Is it clarified that I can get broadband with the Bt Basic package, whether the Broadband be through cables or ADSL?
thank you0 -
Hello 1carminestocky,
It sounds like your father was on the Light User Scheme before BT Basic was introduced, if you can PM me his details I can check if he is eligible for BT Basic.
ah30, yes you can have broadband from BT or from any other broadband provider with BT Basic provided broadband is available in your area.
Cheers,
Stephanie

Well, finally got my first 'Basic' phone bill today which seems correct except for a £3 charge for 1571 which was cancelled ages ago. I've used their contact form about that but am anticipated a Bolly Telecom (BT) reply like I usually get.
Here's the bill: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/38/btbill1.jpg Does that seem correct to the invoicing gurus out there?
BT are very tiresome but I suppose we have to thank them for this service albeit I've waited more than 6 months for it. I think my last bill was wrong but I don't have the energy to chase it after getting the reply of "I suggest you to confirm all your quarries by dialling the above number." via their contact form email service.0 -
Hi Jemma-T,
I have sent you a PM. Look forward to helping you.

Thanks to David, BT's rep, will be emailing you later tonight.
No mad rush replying BTW, I know people are busy0 -
Hi,
When you are switched over to BT Basic you get a new account number. When I checked my old BT LUS account number I found it £26 in credit because line rental is payed in advance on my old LUS account. They dont automatically offset this credit to your new BT Basic account unless you ask (and know about it). I did and got a cheque in the post.0
