So, our 2 CHAPS were on 9 October... 5 November we leave UK for some months ..... b****r..
STILL WAITING for refund of 1x £20 fee plus missing interest on our 2 accounts.
  • There's still nothing arrived in our IF account.

Since KE are monitoring this thread, I'd like a direct contact number we could ring to confirm that you know we're (still) waiting for our cash.

    Thanks, John

 DON’T FEED THE TROLLS

I made the mistake of reading the forum without logging on and saw some posts from the revolting Troll. Ignore it, don’t be tempted to answer it, then it will die. My apologies to all newbies,. Please do not take any notice of the revolting Troll. You're all very welcome. I was a newbie, just a few weeks ago.

Add Trolls to your ignore list, then their posts are unreadable.

:T bigg - Thanks so much for this post. I registered late yesterday and was just about to place my first post when I saw the newbie WorriedK get chewed up.
I thought then that I must have misunderstood the sort of people that use the forum, but the subsequent posts from Smitty, SteepPip, Alisonb1965, PJL1, tintin52.POR, dodgy and you have all led me to place a tentative toe in the water, now that I understand about trolls and their habits!

I cancelled my intended debut post and might have gone to bed downhearted, but then I read the Japanese banks report and retired chuckling. Hope the Japanese banks wasn't copyrighted - it is now winging its way around my friends and colleagues!

Really hope that we hear again from WorriedK and that Kate gets her money very soon along with the rest of you that are still waiting. Well that's my first post and I really feel delighted to join the MSE community:j

Yes I know that FSCS have funded the amounts owing to K-E customers...

My understanding is that the FSCS was not called upon for money:

"As you may be aware the UK Treasury has taken action to protect your savings, transferring all individuals’ UK savings balances from Kaupthing Edge to ING Direct.

All your savings are safe and are now with ING Direct, the world's leading direct savings bank and part of the ING Group which is one of the world's largest banks with assets in excess of £1 trillion and 85 million customers".

ING Direct is managing our savings accounts, according to this statement by it. Since when has it acted as an agent for the FSCS?

Still nothing despite being on the phone to ING for almost the whole day yesterday. No replies to any of my emails either. Don't trust a word they say. Glad to hear money is coming through for some people now, though.

And then theres my Icesave account.... Happy days!

Yes I know that FSCS have funded the amounts owing to K-E customers, but according to the latest K-E statement:
"Kaupthing Edge in the UK is being run by Administrators and we have now received their confirmation that all outstanding payments will be released by Thursday 23 October and we would expect these to start arriving in the destination bank account on Friday 24 October."
If the Administrators are "running" K-E (see first line) then they presumably control its operational and day to day activities, as that's what "run" normally means in business/legal parlance. It thus seems that the ongoing repayment delays are attributable to the Administrators, not ING or K-E. I have no idea exactly what the Administrators are actually doing inside K-E, but it could be that are metering out tranches of FSCS money to protect the FSCS's interests. I have no real idea since no information has been made available beyond the usual load of B.S.

We’re all guessing and that’s exactly the problem. We’re not just waiting for a washing machine or three-piece suite; it’s many people’s life savings.

I hope everybody will be happy on Friday. I’ve promised to stick with this to end and I’ve got a stack of work piling up.
  • Please add me to your list.

CHAPS request made Monday 6th PM, shows on account Tuesday 7th . CHAPS to RBS but nothing received.

Rest assured that what you witnessed last night was not at all representative of the level of support that you'll get from this forum.

Some of the people posting here (me included) have already been paid, but we're all in this together, and most of us will still be here until this thread dies a natural death.
