What happended to "keep your money in a bank so it's safe"???? What worries me is all the old dears who will take recent events as validation to keep the money under the mattress ...

To those who still haven't received CHAPS payments yet - have you made sure that the linked account into which you were hoping to receive that payment wasn't one in which the sort code for BACS payments and CHAPS payments is different? In other words, have you ever had any CHAPS payments from any other organisation into your linked account at all?

I realise that Ernst & Young, the KSF administrators, sent some payments as CHAPS when they were originally requested as BACS. However, I would sincerely hope that they would have had the sense to look these up in the sort code directory before doing this.

Also, although ING Direct have said that withdrawals are now okay, they have admitted that there are still problems with processing deposits. I don't know how these systems work, but whatever it is that's making it difficult for them to process deposits, might also be making it difficult to match bounced withdrawals back to their original account.

So I could be wrong, but I think any transactions that haven't gone through will almost certainly bounce back to your KE account. Then again, ING Direct might take it upon themselves to resubmit them. If it was me in that situation, then I think I would prefer it if they didn't resubmit it without asking me about it first.

Still - keep in there, let's hope for a resolution of these remaining problems, and thanks for the posts.

Hi all just coming back in to offer my support.

Looks a very dissappointing day - but a have a good feeling about tomorrow so dont let it get to you to much. We are the only ones that can win in the end - PEOPLE POWER.

Anyway, it is also a great dissappointment to me as well. I have been excited all day about getting a big kiss from robborollover, but now looks like i will have to wait until next Tuesday - the anxiety is really getting to me know.

Am I the only wally that deposited money to the Kaupthing account on 10th October but still have no trace of it in out Kaupthing account. I have contacted my bank but it was out of working hours. My bank says I will have to put a 'trace' on it. Hope our dosh will be paid in tomorrow like the rest of everyone elses!

No some poor person called Chris posted earlier (can't remember his username) and he transferred into KE om 3rd Oct - not arrived and he must have literally been so close to the cut off before it went pear shaped (via BACS)
