Kaupthing Edge Chaps/Bacs Transfers NEW discussion

Exactly as timkevan #1438...... just checked my Barclays account and found that my money has arrived. CHAPS request on 8th, left my account on 9th. Oddly, not only did they deduct £20 from my Kaupthing account they also deducted it from the transferred money - ie it arrived £20 short. So I was charged £40 to transfer it on the day, a service they singularly failed to perform.
Posted a secure message to KE requesting they address the fee doubling bit! Not holding my breath tho.
I'm sure it will not be too much longer till we are all seeing our money again, ... thanks to the sensible sitemembers for their support over the last two weeks.
I too have just found that my CHAPS payment has arrived in my HSBC account - minus a further £20. It certainly irritates me no end that they have the nerve to charge TWICE for this "service", but at least the capital is back with me.
I shall now join the growing band of supporters rooting for everybody who has still not had theirs. Good luck to you all.
Sincere thanks to the brilliant members of this forum for getting me through this awful stress.0 -

YES ME, but I suspect quite a few more.0 -
My eleven grand from 13th just arrived.
Mind you... I have made a *huge* fuss with KE 'operatives' this week.
Proving that it pays to be persistent and keep bugging the supervisors and managers...
I must have spoken to at least 20 different people at KE. Only 'Andrew' and 'James' have been rude (but they sounded younger than most of the others). The rest have been polite if completely lacking in any sort of concrete information.
I have insisted that they take me through security and log a complaint, every time I've called, and then pass me onto a supervisor, who has authority to chase up individua cases with 'Head Office', but only by email. Once I'd discovered that they *could* access accounts if they chose to, despite what they said initially, communication improved.
Good luck to everyone still waiting. If you want to try my tactic - number is 0115-9836331. Use 18185.co.uk and it will ony cost you 5p per call, even if you have to wait hours. Luckily I have a headset, so have been able to get on with whatever else I've wanted to while waiting. Otherwise I reckon it's taken me about 8 hours on hold and on calls.0 -
IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE! I've been checking my account every 10 minutes, and sometime between 16.30 and 16.40 it hit my (Natwest) account. I'm so happy I could cry.
Guys, thanks for all your support over the past few weeks. I would have literally gone off my head without this forum. And I hope there aren't too many still waiting at the end of today. Lord, I'm almost delirious with relief!
Congratulations :beer:0 -
Outstanding CHAPS payments from both mine and my husbands accounts at KE requested 08.10.08 have appeared in our destination account at Natwest within the last hour. Like others we have also paid the CHAPS fees twice and I will be following this up together with the lost interest.
Hope everyone gets their money soon - thinking of you.0 -
It has arrived!
CHAPS 8/10 to Natwest, debited from KE account as well as £20 fee on 9/10.
They have taken another £20 somewhere as well as it is that much less than it should be.
Thanks for the support on here. Will keep watching, and return when the CHAPS fee refund thread starts.0 -
And mine has now :jarrived in my NatWest account this afternoon too...0
