Kaupthing Edge-fixed term deposit, ne1 had theirs broken?

Hello, was just wondering if anyone on the forum had broken a fixed term deposit with Kaupthing Edge (ING) recently, and if so has it gone through ok?

I phoned to break mine on the 7th but still nothing has happened, I'm starting to wonder if they're even processing them.

Mine hasn't been broken either in over a week.

I suspect they're not being processed.
  • Received Oct 7th BACS transfer on Friday 17th (sent by CHAPS), also arranged the transfer of 3 term deposits on 7th but the funds have still not arrived in my Kaupthing savings account.

Spoke to Kaupthing supervisor earlier and was told there is no current time scale for term deposit transfers.

Has anyone had any success with term deposit transfers ?
  • The money I tried to transfer by BACs on the 7th October finally turned up in my linked account on Friday as promised!
I still cannot access my money in the term deposit account despite requesting this to be transferred to my KE current account on the 7th too. I spoke to Kaupthing Edge yesterday who said that there was a big backlog of manual transactions, presumably because they have to calculate the interest manually.I spoke to some one from ING this morning and she said this should happen today or I will be contacted. I guess I will have to wait and see. I would be very interested if anyone has been able to access their money from a deposit account since the 7th October.

I requested mine to be broke on the 5th and it still hasn't been. Id rather they just said when it will be even if its a week or two rather than tell me it should be any day now when ive rung in the past.

Oi Gimp - if you've got a full sized keyboard use proper words please. Text speak is just so lazy!

I've not phoned since last week but I originally requested it to be broken way back on the 5th of October. At least it shows there making there way through them! Just hope what i've transfered it arrives safely in my linked account now!

I requested to break mine on the 7th and it has just been broken today. Now to decide where to send it. I don't fancy relying on another foreign compensation scheme, regardless of how safe ING are purported to be.
