Hi Sarah , many thanks for the reply , you are correct this was the case about our debt plan we had no surplus to get a plan with.
you did mention that a plan was not for everyone .. what are the alternatives as these were not explained to us.
this debt thing takes a bit of getting used to and one thinks it may all go away but its not happening and our main worry is we could lose our home !!
Therefore we would be grateful for any further info;)...thanks

So... it's now very close to my payday... my bank account has a £1000 overdraft with a £500 "reserve"... in past months I've been dipping into that reserve (and incurring bank fees for doing so)... what I'm wondering is... if I'm to transfer my money out of the bank account into my new one, do I then just manually call up the mortgage company and utility companies in order to make one-off (full) payments to them?

I don't see a good way to do this transfer smoothly without causing potential problems... there will surely be a 5 day (at least) delay while making the transfer...

Anyone got any advice on the best way to handle the transition from one account to another?

Apologies, I didn't explain myself well... I'm moving onto a DMP, hopefully on June 1st... I'd just like to make sure that all my "essential" bills are paid this month while the CC's etc go onto reduced payments ASAP... my pay would go in on or around the 16th and most of my DDs for mortgage, CCs etc are set for the 7 days following that...

I'm not sure how much I can transfer out of my account, whether I should transfer up to my maximum £1000 overdraft or not?

    Hello,
I need some advice please. I am on a dmp. one creditor has not exepted and have written to me asking me to pay the arrears or increase my repayment or pay a reduced lump sum. sadly am not in a position to do any of. they say they will transfer dept to a dept collection agency if i dont do any thing.

Should I just keep paying through dmp or should I contact them.

    any advice please.

  • Hi Amanda,

Thanks for your advise, I will get the letter sent out immediately. My DMP is Payplan who do not charge so hopefully they will negotiate with them.

The problem is HSBC are loading up the debt with new charges, I just think it is so wrong that they are allowed to do this.

    Kind regards,

    Lisa

Hi, I've started letter writing to my credit card companies that I owe money to.
I look at my MBNA card statement and fine 3 alternative addresses!

Can anyone please help me and tell me which address is best to send my letters to? I've seen a Chester, Bolton and Widnes address, so confusing and I don't want any delays.

    Thanks everybody.

Hi patrico and thank you for message

If you have no surplus after paying your all your priority bills, then token payments may be the only option for you at this time.
If there had been other options when you spoke to CCCS,then these would have been discussed with you.
If there are any changes to your circumstances and you do have a surplus in your budget, then please ring for another appointment to discuss your situation further as there may be other options then.
    Regards

    Hi Sarah,
I have just checked and the 4 CCJ's are for 2 debts, not one. 2 relate to Capital one and 2 relate to RBS. The particulars of the claim state that the claimants claim relate to the fact that I agreed to pay monthly instalments, I didnt as I was burying my head in the sand and didnt reply to any letters. Interest is also going on at a yearly rate of 8%. I know I defaulted and I am willing to pay but is it correct for them to issue 2 to each of the debts? The charges are more than what the original debt was actually for in the case of Capital one. Any information such as what to say to the solicitor that issued the CCj's or the courts would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi nuttytart and thanks for your message

The creditors have an obligation to make sure that the information on your file is correct so you need to find out why there are two CCJ's on two debts.Ask them to clarify the reason.
If it is not correct then you can ask them to amend your file.

    Helloo

I AM doing my own DMP .. because PP say they I don't have enough surplus for them.. I beg to differ.. but still.

    Anyway.. my question is.

I know how to make payments to my credit cards.. But what about the 2 loans I have?

They are both attached to their same bank.. bank accounts that I have.

One has an overdraft facility.. the other doesn't.

Oh.. let me explain it better.
One is a Cahoot loan.. that I have a bank account with too.. (which is £500 -OD)
The money for that loan WAS being paid from my Barclays account. (but no longer because I stopped the DD)..

The other loan is from HSBC.. the bank account with them is in credit.. and has no overdraft facility. The payment for that loan (usually) comes from my HSBC bank account. (I have a £2250 credit card with them too)

arrghh!.. I explained it even MORE badly.. :o:o

How do I make payments to those 2 loans?
