    Hi

Please can sombody give me the telephone number for the CCCS 'Self Employed' counselling department.

I initially completed the online form and spoke to an advisor 3 days ago. I then spent an hour phoning 3 different numbers and on the 3rd attempt I was told it was still the wrong number but they would take my details and get the correct department to call me back before they closed at 8pm that day!

3 days have passed since was given the run around and promise and I have not had a call from anybody from CCCS and I have been in 24 /7. I have called the last number back several times and it just rings and rings but finally yesterday I had a personal answerphone to which I left a message and asked for a callback and I am still waiting!

We are desparate for help as we have letters and calls asking for money and telling them we cant pay what we dont have is falling on deaf ears and we are getting letters saying they will take us to court and it is all very worring and stressful and we are at the end of our teather and terrified (I know the CCCS must be inundated at the moment and we arnt the only people in debt) sorry to sound so dramatic :o .

Please help! All we need is a number!

    Thank you

This matter has finally been resolved and someone has called me and I am waiting for another phonecall appointment at 3pm today where I have to go through it all again including hubbys Self Employment details. Thank you anyway. :D

    Hi

Can somebody please tell me if my husband and I HAVE to make a JOINT application?

He is self employed (with little income) and I am on Incapacity Benefits and receive his Working Tax Credits to put towards the housekeeping. Therefore as I pay all the bills to keep the roof above our heads and he pays all the overheads of his small business and we both have separate debts can we undergo councelling individually? I know he will have to go via a Self Employed advisor and I through CCCS ordinary councellor.

    Hope this makes sense?

    Thanks

    :D

You can do it either way. It sometimes is better to look at a joint budget so costs don’t get repeated; however it’s up to you.

    Hi, hope someone can help.

I want to enter a DMP but on speaking to Payplan I was told that I couldn't as I have a debt that I don't want to include on the plan.

I work for a bank and if I include the debt which is held with the bank, then my job could be under threat. I would also have to tell my line manager (not known for her discretion) and the HR department. At a time when redundancies are looming, I would not want this on my file.

I made a large overpayment on this loan early last year which means that I will not need to make a payment to it for the term of the DMP.

What is my best way forward as I thought that I had this all sorted but now I am back at start with mounting debts (interest and charges) that I cannot afford to pay.

    Hello,

If this is going to affect your employment we may be able to treat the debts with your work as a priority. Without having all you information in front of me I would not be able to say if a DMP is your best option.

If you would like CCCS to take a look at your budget for you, if can call with your details and we maybe able to get you straight through for an appointment.

If you would like an appointment please call 0800 138 1111.

  • Help!

My husband and myself phoned CCCS today regarding our debts of 37K. he has no job at the moment due to lack of work around in our area...and although we have struggled through up until now without missing payments we are no longer going to be able to may the payments on one wage.

They said to phone all our creditors and ask them to put our credit card accounts on hold for 28 days until we have our meeting with CCCS in two weeks time - which after this we will phone them back & update them on the situation.

We started the horrible task of doing this , however when it came to phoning MBNA they were extremely rude - even though i had been a customer for over 12 years with not one missed payment. The lady said that she could not put the account on hold & that she had now put a barr on it & i was to send the cards back to MBNA??????????? She also continued to say that with MBNA the debt will stay with us on record for 16 YEARS!!!!!! and will also effect us being able to get motor insurance.

Can someone please advise is this really the case?????????

Also i need advise on how to make jesture payments & when these should be made. ONe of the accounts is egg and is done over the internet...so can i just make a payment by debit card?

Can some one help....it has been a very difficult time getting to this point but i know that we are on the right track no matter how diffcult it may be at least we are now trying to deal with our debt problems.

    :(:(:(:(:(:cry::cry::cry::cry:

does anyone have any advice????????? really kneed to know about these token payments & when they should be made.......Also about the MBNA issue

  • I have another question. I see lots of responses here lately about "not enough surplus for a DMP". Can you give me an indication of what constitutes "enough"? Can someone at least give me a ballpark figure of perhaps what % of the debt:monthly payment might be? I was also refused a DMP but have been living this past year on what CCCS said could not be lived on and now I am being run ragged by letters from retail collectioin department and differing information when phoning up. I'm getting letters back which do not answer by questions and even had a letter from customer complaints department to say they are dealing with my complaint but I never made a complaint until Monday. Advice on he above would be appreciated.
:j Got the loan and now down from £9k to £4.5k. Trying to get a better mortgage deal now but thanks to ex-husband I am being knocked back..... Still in a better place than two years ago. Have faith!:j
  • Sorry if this is answered somewhere else in these pages but this sticky is so vast it'll take ages to read through it all.

If a DCA or CC company take me to court for an unpaid credit card and I am not disputing that the money is owed but just cant pay, live on benefits.
Will the judge take my income / circumstances into account when making the judgement? Is there anything in particular the defendant has to do to ensure the CCJ payments are set at an ammount that can actually be paid?

I see someone else up the board was ordered to pay in full.
  • Hi,
    My story so far.....

After o/h redundancy 4 years ago I have entered into a payplan scheme paying £1 per month to creditors approx £25-30K This has been a secret I have lived with all his time along with another personal loan from HSBC taken out before the payplan thing but afraid to inclde as we have a joint account with them and o/h pays salary into it, and hsbc will automatically take the £457 monthly payment from it..... I am now on incappacity benefit and as o/h has taken a lower salary and we have a huge mortgage taken after a move to make money ona property (which we have but cannot now sell it) taken out before o/h redundancy....

I do all the money dealing and we have survived these past years on reclaims with advice fom Martin Lewis, but now things have gotten awful and we cannot meet our monthly bills I have not paid the council tax for 4 months mortgage has fallen by £2000, endowment policy behind by 9 months and we have no surplus cash, I am struggleing to sleep and o/h is not aware..........

    could go on..........

Thank you JWM feel so lonley with this it is stating to affect my daily life, can't seem to stop thinking about it and guilt ridden seems I am always saying can't afford to to my friends/family when asked to meet up even a coffee is one I can't afford and making conversation about anything else seems hard,
  • Firstly I m sorry if it is not the right place to post it but I coudnt find any other better place to post it.Sorry I m new.

NOW I had a contract with O2 through CPW and after a year I changed to simplicty.I overused my minutes and was charged 254.I couldn,t pay it and was reffered to Credit Soulotions. They Asked me that I have to pay total of 254. I agreed and made initial payment of 50 pounds and 30 pounds a month afterwards.Till now I have Paid 140 pounds.I thought I have the rest of the money so I called them so i could pay it.But found out I still have to pay 176 pounds.I asked them why is it and they told me becuase my contract is still in place so I m charged 33 pounds each month but I m not receving any services I cant use my phone.

bottom line is i was paying 30 pounds every month thinking that I m towards the end of my debt but found out it is increasing 3 pounds every month.I would also like to mention the guy from CSL (credit solutions) told me that the total payment I have to pay is 254 and no one ever mentioned 33 pounds line rental to me.

Is there any way I can just pay total of 254 and ask them not to charge me for extra 33 pounds a month as I was not using my phone (well I was not allowed to). Your help will be highly appreciated.

    Regards.
