  • Hi,

i've been with just about everybody and Blockbuster were far and away the best in terms of sending stuff out fast and getting you things from the top of your list. They don't offer any discounts though.

However I'm with Lovefilm as every time I cancel they offer me three monthes for the price of 1 within a few weeks or even a few days of me cancelling. So I've been a member all this year but only paid for 4 months. A word of warning though, they can take 2 or even 3 days to send out new discs after getting the old ones back and there is a long wait for new or popular titles. They are good on TV shows though. It depends what you want.

  • I used to be with Tescos for a short time before changing to Cinema Paradiso, which has been great for me.

tescos have just sent me a letter offering me a gift voucher for 3 months rental to try and get me to re-join them.

To try and claim it yourself, the website is www.tescodvdrental.com/freegift then enter the code TSZZ9876

    Good luck! :D

I would back up everything which has been said on here about Lovefilm, and all third parties who use them (Tesco etc).

We have been with Tesco's Lovefilm service for two months and the service is atrocious. They take ages to log DVDs as received - but amazingly when I report them as missing they turn up almost instantly. Also the turnaround from receiving DVDs back and sending new ones out is getting slower and slower. I have had no DVDs at home for over a week now. The customer service is dire - they don't read your e-mails properly and hence do not give you the correct reply.

In my opinion, avoid Lovefilm like the plague!

Just found a 90 day (3 months) free trial voucher code that still works!
Its with lovefilm.com (who I used to be with a year ago) and its the 'unlimited 3 DVD' package.
    .

To use it had to create a new 'account' as I had been with them before and couldn't activate it with the new free offer. It just meant a new email address. Plus I have moved postal address since then, so people creating a new account but with the same address may have problems (ie only works one person per house hold condition?).

Anyway, found the codes and more at https://www.vouchercodes.com

    ===edited===

sorry, didn't realise you were not supposed to post the codes on this forum.
The full promotion code etc is on this new link

    enjoy :)

Hi I signed up to the Boots/Lovefilm offer (14 day free trial with a £15 gift voucher) & when I rang up to cancel I was offered 3 months free if I paid for one month.

I recently took advantage of Lovefilm's trial through Mutual Net and so far they've been really fast at dispatching my films (just had the second batch in the post this morning only 2 days after returning the first 2 films). Only one of the four received so far has been one I marked as High priority which I'm a little disappointed about, but I guess lots of other people want to see the newer movies too and hey, it's free anyway so it's all good!

It does look like I'm not going to get my points from Mutual Net if I cancel the subscription before the end of the trial period as the points are showing as 'Pending' for 30 days...

I have used several of the LOVEFILM powered sites, and have been disappointed with all of them... However, I used the actual LOVEFILM site recently, and got every single movie at the top of my list, in the correct order.

I think maybe they treat their own customers very well, and all the other companies get whatever's left...
  • Did anyone else try the Lovefilm 30 day trial with the £15 Boots voucher offer? I did and decided it was not for me so cancelled in the 30 days. I have just been told that I do not qualify for the voucher as I did not list 10 films I wanted to borrow (I did not have 10 films I wanted to watch hence cancelled the account!).

I think that's a pretty raw deal and wandered if I was the only one to have this problem. Other than sending a bleating email any good ideas what I can do now?
