    YES YES YES :j
Called in to Game on Farfate in Sheffield today. Cashier said they were expecting 2 core and 2 premiums within 20 minutes. Anyway I waited and sure enough they arrived. How much are they? I asked, £769-99 he says with a bundle of games etc. So I bought one, paid for it and then asked him to refund me £480-00 for all the useless bundled games and accessories!!!! He said he couldn't do it but I quoted the T & C's and said if you're not certain ring head office. Anyway he went into the back to speak with his manager - came back and told me Head Office lines were all engaged but as a "gesture of goodwill" they would refund me the £480. So we have an xbox premium for Christmas. Only thing now are the games but the ones he wants have been delayed until January. Should still be able to play the ordinary xbox games though.

A BIG BIG Thank you to the guy that posted the link for Games T & C's on AVforum.

  • Have to say i agree with 'irate member' (although i dont agree with how they have worded the post).
I ordered an xbox for my bf by phone, and was told they had an xbox there for me, but now they dont because they have all been shipped out.
Hmmm, bet i wont get one in time for christmas now :(

Now now irate member, calm down :D

whilst i do feel for your situation, you can't blame people here - this is 100% the fault of argos for a) having a site that allows you to order if out of stock and b) not managing their telephone orders properly

Yeah your right. Argos told me that had one left so i ordered it with a promise of delivery for yesterday, rung this morning coz it hadnt arrived and was told it'll be here by wed/thurs as they were getting a delivery today. Rung again to make sure and now told they have no idea when they'll get one in!!
    Blimmin ridiculous isnt it!!
Sorry, was letting off steam at argos.

I agree with you phatspider, I have used maplin's website that once you have selected the item it's actually in your basket so you can "pick up" other items, once you paid it's yours, if you don't it goes back into stock (i guess you have to get to the checkout with a certain amount of time!). But this is better than building up people's hopes by getting them to enter all their details in a frenzy to get the item, only to be let down in the end.

  • I think the worst offender is Play.com who have repeatedly offered 360's as "In Stock" when they clearly have not had stock. Not just once, but on several occasions.
  • i ordered my 360 three weeks ago. BEFORE 2nd dec. Got a phone call saying they are in stock again and one would be here monday. but now theyre all gone again, of course they cant manage the orders, according to their screen theyve got some! how are they to know orders are slipping in and getting priority?
  • then they shold not be giving priority to anyone but back orders - first come first served

dont blame us - blame argos!
  • Anybody tried ordering off amazon.fr or amazon.de? French amazon says delivery under 4 - 6 weeks and German says 2 - 4 months (I think!). It does let you go through and order them though. Didn't go as far as look at shipping costs etc. Maybe worth a try?

Just remember there are people who ordered in August who havnt recieved their xbox yet (me included)
