For years while the economy has boomed your lives have been dull and fruitless, nothing to smile about, and at last its all finally gone tits up so you can do a merry dance. I'm happy for your time in the sun
. I don't understand you but it's nice that you're happy now.
Nope, I spent those years growing up as I was a child when the boom started. It's a phase some have obviously missed out from their personal development.
BTW the posters on MSE were specifically accused of talking the housing market down, so I think it's only right that we make amends by talking it back up again, such are the powers we have!I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -
that just in aberdeen too?The high streets and its shops are still filled to the brink of crush every saturday afternoon and the pubs and clubs on friday/saturday nights are still heaving.
funny my leccy, gas and diesel bills are not reflecting this?Price of fuel has plummeted, price of food is dropping and bank interest rates have been slashed.
anyway, sorry tom, back to topic, i was raiding the department store on saturday, was only intending to buy a few new handbags and a couple pairs of boots, but something else caught my eye. lovely embroidered silk cushions, only £70. problem was they came in three colours, and couldnt decide which would look best on my recently purchased £3000 italian leather sofa. naturally, as im feeling so flash in this current economic revival, i decided to purchase four cushions of all colours, as a £840 treat! sumptuous! and because im worth it!
also, on property bee this morning i notice the housing market is making a swift recovery!

1) Interest rates to fall sharply, which lenders will have to pass on, or be named and shamed.
2) B2L yields at last make sense with 7-8% relatively easy to find
3) Companies have become leaner and fitter so well poised once orders pick up
4) Wife tried to book a villa this week and found virtually everything for next summer is already booked - honestly, and I'm talking £1500 per week and up
5) People have been chopping down thier personal debt
6) FTBs have had time to save deposits
7) 95% mortgages will return next summer (in 1991 Nationwide and N West re introduced 100% lending and negative equity mortgage - I sold em)
8) Emmerging economies such as Morocco and Venuzuala continue to grow and demand UK expertise0 -

Get buying things now before prices rise.

The herd agrees with you, which is why I'm tending to think the opposite.
Buy in the gloom, dont wait for 'certain' signs of recovery as you will find instead of being a buyer alone, you will be one amongst others so there will be no need for vendors to 'take a hit'.
If you prefer, just follow the herd0 -
Even Merv is optimistic on the future of the economy as these pictures show:
