The "talk the economy up" thread.

People keep moaning about those who are "talking the economy down".

So to prove how right they are, I've started this thread. It's going to revive the UK economy just by the power of positive thought.

I'll start:

"The economy is in great shape, better shape than it's ever been in before. It's going to be kickstarted. Look out for the green shoots."

However I do think I saw someone in the local pound shop filling their basket with reckless abandon.

    (is that better?)

'The banks have been saved by the government! Plus, inflation is on the way down, interest rates are on the way down, the government has told the banks to return to 2007 lending levels AND curb reposessions! So pretty soon there'll be no more silly house price crash. Oh, and Petrol is under a £1 a litre again!'

    How's that?

The economy's going fantastic. And just to help it out, I'm digging myself out of early retirement to underpin it with my skillset.

I just know I'll have a job as soon as I start applying for some, let's say easily by the end of October - and no doubt at a six figure salary.

Hurrah for the sudden upturn in things.

    How about this -

'FTSE UP, House Prices UP, Economy UP. Up, up, up.'

I was in town yesterday and it looked busy. Obviously, people are out there again, thinking about Christmas and using their plastic like there's no tomorrow. And can you blame 'em? Poor devils, they've had almost two months of this Crisis; I mean, how much more are they supposed to take, for Gord's sake?

Yes the build-up to Christmas is here, and from now on it will be one long of series of indulgences, as we kick the economy back to where it should be and cast off the last vestiges of gloom and doom. After all, if Alistair can spend his way out of this by bringing forward projects on his Capital One card, so can we! Put it all on the slate guvnor; it's drinks all round for a new beginning! Green shoots? We'll have a bl**dy lawn by January!

And remember, you heard this news here first, from honest Dave, personal economik analist to the rich, bent and slightly famous.....

I spend a lot of time driving past estate agents.

The offices are practically empty these days and theres hardly any mercs parked outside. The EAs must all be out doing viewings :T :j things are DEFINATELY picking up ;)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
