I have posted a link to it before....honest!
But here is another, though not the best pic to work from, hence all the emails back and forth to Landy!

    Still excited Hels

SexyLegs - you look beautiful, your dress is lovely - glad you had a wonderful day!

Tediousphoenix - I love your dress, the colour really suits you
  • The material is a sort of satin. It's not as soft as other things I've bought over the years in satin, but it's more satin-ie than the lining.

I do like the colour - I'm just not sure what his parents will make of it though! They want me to wear a traditional Chinese wedding dress and instead I have a pink wedding/prom dress! Oh well, I still like it!

It's still very creased so I'll have to try to get those out - I think people here mentioned steaming in the bathroom (I'll have to put the door back on the hinges for that... damn DIY work!) I may even test a bit of the fabric that doesn't show with a very, very cool iron and a damp hanky.

The dress is very heavy with all the layers. I'm looking at that pic and trying to work out if I need a petticoat. I probably do, but that will add to the weight... and if it's a warm day I could get too hot. In case I have to quickly decide to get one - wedding is 9th May - do any of the high-street shops sell them at a reasonable cost?

You should get one on E-Bay for a reasonable price. Goodness only knows whay they'd charge on the high street.

sexy legs - your pics are great thanks for posting them. Glad the day went well.x

mshelsbels - love the pic of the dress. Landy are good for replying and answering questions I found.

I had to email Milly cos 2 of the 7 bridesmaids dresses were quite tight under the bust (of the smaller busted bridesmaids) they said they could wear them but might not be able to breath and eat - I mean com'on why should they ned to do that hahaha :rotfl: Anyway I emailed milly an they will make those 2 bodices again for free, it will only cost minimal postage which I thought was pretty good. They dont wish me to return the others which is handy as my neice (the one in the picture I posted) wants to get one for a special night out somewhere but its before the wedding so we will adjust one of the now spare ones for her to have.
    😁
  • Congratulations Sexy Legs, you look beautiful, glowing with happiness.

Thank for all the links and info, still really unsure I want to pay all that cash for 5 satin swatches. (I dont need all the colours, just the bridal ones). Most of the dresses I like are chiffon overlay so doesnt this mean the colours of the satin will look more muted anyway....

Awesome!!!! You look lovely! Gosh, it looks like a fab wedding! Where was it? The place looks so romantic!

Gosh, you dont need more makup, you look lovely! I will go for natural look myself!
And the dress is stunning! If I was told its a designer dress, i would believe it!I am totally in love with the look of it, the combination of lace and satin makes it look so expensive! It is definitly on my 'favourites' list.

Congratulations!!!! Lots of happiness and joy to you Mrs Sexy legs!:T:T:T

Thanks for all the lovely comments. The dress is in Dark Ivory although it does look very light in the photos.

It is Tafetta and lace. It wasn't the easiest thing to walk or dance in but everyone was commenting on how nice it was.

Do any of you have any hints tips for washing it, my friend said she put hers in a bath and it came up fine.

Just go for your Landy Dresses is what I say, no one will know the difference on the day, and you won't be in that Polyester rubish.

I'll keep coming on here to say hello and love looking at all the dresses and the progress.

Thanks again for all the support, I'm trying to sort the honeymoon out now as we are off to Kenya on Monday Yippee cannot wait for that now.

Must do some holiday shopping, any excuse LOL :j

I would get the one's from milly, as I said they are exactly the same shades as Landy and you can judge the light and dark ivory based on the ivory swatch. IMO the dark ivory is a buttercream colour and the light ivory is inbetween the whight and ivory (funnily enough )
