thanks for the info gleeful. I have had an update from milly about their backlog and why their comms is so crap atm. I Hope you get your dress soon. CNY did create a backlog but even a company with reputation as bad as LITB managed to get me my childrens bm dresses in time! Not sure I would be 100% comfy going to them for my wedding dress though due to the uncertainty with their deliveries. I do have a standby option of an off the peg number but really don't want to HAVE to use it.

Hello, I've decided to order HS9333 wedding dress. But I want less wide skirt and shorter train, so they asked for 25euro extra for "repattern". Has anybody else paid extra charges for custom-made?

That sounds reasonable really, as they will have to alter the pattern. I went for custom made completely, and mine was more expensive than the ones on the site.

The Landy evening dress I ordered arrived today.
I've thought hard about posting this, and I hope this does not upset anyone, but I have to say I am very disappointed, and I am posting this in the hope that I can stop anyone else wasting a lot of money, as I unfortunately have
Thankfully, for me, this dress was 'just' for evening wear. I would have been devastated if I'd ordered a wedding dress and it arrived in this state. It has been an expensive mistake too, as I paid 20 odd euro supplement for a plus size, which was not mentioned anywhere until I had completed checkout and received the demand by email.

Quite apart from the fact it doesn't fit (too small, in spite of me ordering a size larger than I thought I needed, on the premise that it could be taken in but not made bigger), the stitching is of poor quality, the dress isn't finished properly - trimming is just tacked on randomly, and the material is not of particularly nice quality, especially the lining. The dress weighs a ton too, so would be expensive to post back for them to sort out. I think it is going straight to the charity shop.

It may or may not be a coincidence that my credit card details were 'compromised' at some point shortly after this transaction with Landy. My credit card issuer stopped my card and I had to phone the fraud team to verify my recent transactions. I had to have a new card, new account number and PIN.

I wouldnt use Landy again after getting my dress from them. They made mistakes that even a novice dressmaker wouldnt have made. It now going to cost me more to alter my dress so its wearable. Landy hasnt replied to any of my emails since and Ive been unable to get a refund through paypal being as it was custom made. Alot of money wasted, even worse that I used the money left to me from my late nan to pay for it. But we learn from our mistakes and can only help stop others from making the same ones.

Just a note on the Landy Bridal website, it appears to have been flagged by Google in the last couple of days as "suspicious" - Google has tested it & has found malicious software (worms, trojans, scripting exploits) hosted there. Hi Lavendyr - I tried on 3 dresses at the weekend and fell head over heels in love with one. I came to look at Landy to see if there was something similar and also got this Malware warning - whats that all about? Did you get past it?

I am gutted because although the dress was in the sale, it was still £500! I nearly cried wearing it - it was everything I had wished for - a bit Grecian, had straps, not too ostentatious but classy! They wouldn't let me take a photo which is fair enough I suppose!! Grrrr!

Will try Landay again and keep looking elsewhere in the meantime! x
