my mum has shopped at M for years - not sure if she checks receipts - will advise her to! i only been once since moving - asda nearer now - picked up 2 packs of philadelphia from full shelf with bogof stickers on. went through not bogof. after queuing half an hour with bored toddler was told it was the smaller ones that were bogof but they didnt have any so they had just filled the shelf with the big ones instead. no apology or anything. grudgingly said i could ret them but they were at bottom of shopping & toddler really whingy so didn't bother. haven't been back since. always remember the staff on the actual checkouts being lovely though when shopping with mum.Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!0

I had never even heard of this until recently when I found out that Tesco do it, but Morrisons don't.[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

Most Morrisons have been running a 20% discount when buying 6 or more bottles of Australian wine. Not sure if this is an on-going promo or not though.
I know some people ask to speak to a Senior Manager when buying wine in bulk - they often come to a min of 10%. Other factors include the mood of the manager and the persistance of the customer.
Never let them tell you that it's impossible - It's not.0 -
I only found out it's not there policty cause I work there and a customer asked me.
It is true though if you feel like it you can always ask and some would be more than happy to negotiate but others will just keep saying theres nothing they can do and remeber the higher the manager the more likely it is to get your way.[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

Made my third visit of the new year to my local Morrison's in Morpeth. I was really only there to get some milk and anything else that looked good value.
Noticed two errors/ odd things:
(i) The imperial level soap on special offer in 3 locations in the store had 2 different prices. On closer examination it was the same product, with in 1 location an old label on the shelf - the expired offfer closure date was in very very small print.
(ii) There was a reduced hovis granary loaf on dipslay without a use by/sell by date. When I asked a member of staff why there wasn't a use by date on it they said it came in today, and then took it off me because they said it shouldn't be on display - but oddly she seemed to know all about it.
I don't think I have ever seen Hovis bread without a use by date on it. Very strange.
I didn't have the energy or real need to purchase the soap and argue and wait for a refund. Its a shame to see this lack of attention to detail resurfacing again.0 -

That 20% discount was off all the australian wines regardless of how many you brought. I don't think Morrisons tills have the facility to take percentages off. They just change the price of each product.0 -
Morrisons is where ive been shopping cos very convenient, but,I find their stocks very poor, they seem to sell the products that make them most money, not the larger sizes for example which are cheaper.Customer service from management has been very poor.Going to start going to Tesco or asda a lot more0

Hi,
It is always best to check the weight of items on the bogof offers and how they compare to the stuff on the shelf. For example making sure that the bigger tubs matched the offer stated on the bogof displayed on the shelf. My experience is you cannot always go by what it says on the shelf, and what is actually placed above it. And this is at all the supermarkets I regularly shop at (Morrisons, Sainsburys, ASDA and Tesco). Hope this waffling makes some sort of sense.0 -

Particular favourite in my local Morrisons is to put a differing item behind the BOGOF's - i.e. different weight item that doesn't qualify for BOGOF or different variety that's not included - have had many visits to c/s over this one - since reading the Tesco thread have realised that Trading standards may well be interested in this practice, something I may point out next time it happens to me.

safeways was quite guilty of this process, somehting i complained bitterly about (to no avail) at the store i could see from my bedroom window when we were still in glasgow
perhaps morrisons has taken up this annoying (and probably illegal) activity from their predecessors :mad:founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
I go to Morrisons very little now, usually for the few own brand products that I like and the bogofs. I just got sick of the impatient, surly and downright rude staff, who seemed to think it was my fault I had been overcharged. It is the nearest supermarket to me. but I would rather go the extra mile out of my way to Asda and Lidl.
On the other hand, they do have some own brand products that I prefer to any others.
