I once bought BOGOF Morrisons pate, got home and found i had not only paid over twice what the pate price was advertised to be but also that it had not gone through as BOGOF. So effectively i paid over 4 times more than i thought i was paying.

Think I fell for this one as well, could be the same store. If you think Beverley is bad you should try the East Hull branch, it's far worse then Beverley from my experience (regularly visit both).
On a lighter note did manage to get an advertised offer from Morrisons that worked in my favour. Wasn't after the item in question but bought it out of stubborness. Walls Ballspriced at £1.49 each or 2 for 99p on the SEL, charged not surprisingly £2.98 for 2 packs. Customer service couldn't find any record of the offer in the folder, called the frozen food manager out who brought the offending SEL with him, gave us a refund of the difference and explained there must have been an error in printing and offer should have been 2 for £1.99 - result, mind you the Walls Balls were awfull and ended up in the bin.

I write as a long time sufferer of poor customer service at the Safeway/Morrisons at Sheffield (Meadowhead) - Whilst there has been a slight improvement of the attitude of staff now the store is a Morrisons, the catalogue of shame is just as long:
- mis-pricing of BOGOFs - and prices not being changed on the system when these have been reported
- waiting for 5 - 10 minutes at CS whilst misprices are checked/verified
- filling bare shelves with more expensive alternative products once a particular offer line is out of stock - but leaving the original labels in place (must have got this idea from Mr Tesco)
- demanding the original proof of purchase (i.e. receipt) whenever you take a Morrisons branded good back for a refund due to it being "off" in quality
- security staff who still prowl menacingly around the store (definitely nothing like the "Welcome" staff at Asda.)
More reasons NOT to shop at Morrisons!

Having made a big point about the large number of pricing errors at my local Morrsion's store in Morpeth I thought it only right and proper to report the fact that things seem to have improved of late.
This seems to me to confirm the point that a lot of mispricing is due to local factors such as store management, staff morale, etc.
Whatever the reason things do seem to have taken a turn for the better at my local store. Long may it continue. But I shall still keep a close eye on my till receipts for the foreseeable future.
With regard to Morrisons own brand products - can anyone recomment any of their own brand products on the grounds of outstanding value and/or quality.0 -
Their garlic slices are really nice, Tesco and Asda etc. put loads on but it doesn't taste of garlic Morrisons do so definately worth buying. Having said that the last lot I bought had nothing on them!!! But that's one lot out of hundreds by now!![FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

I like Morrisons, but I only pop in for the bargains now and again. But I have fallen foul of the bogof reduced items trap. I bought two items, £1.99 each, on bogof. They were marked down to £1.49 (and even had a bogof sticker on them) I was checking the till as they went through, wondering if I would be charged £1.49 + £1.49 - £1.99 (99p total) or £1.49 + £1.49 - £1.49 (£1.49 total), but instead I was charged £1.49 + £1.49 = £2.98, 99p more than if I had bought the not reduced items. I refused to buy them at the till, and made her take them off.Quidco cashback paid out so far £745.89 :j0

You get a free wine carrier with 6 bottles.
Which supermarkets do special offers when you buy 6 then? I've never seen it advertised?0 -
I must say that I have had nothing but great service from my converted Safeway to Morrisons (Lindsayfield, East Kilbride). Ok so I've had some pricing errors, but have never had to queue for more than a couple of minutes. The staff also aren't too concerned about the exact cost of the refund, generally rounding it up by a few pence for convenience! The number of pricing errors I feel has reduced since the takeover, and the store is a lot brighter and busier than when it was a Safeway, although the store closes earlier and the garage isn't 24hr like it used to.
In my opinion it's now a lot cheaper than Safeway, vastly cheaper than Sainsburys and has better bogofs than Asda. Tesco is about 10 miles away, passing 2 Sainsburys, 2 Asdas, 3 Somerfields, 2 Lidl so isn't worth a mention. Security guards don't bother me in the slightest, if they help to keep the prices lower, so much the better. Also noticed cafe sandwiches come with a bit of side salad and some crisps which is a nice touch!Waddle you do eh?0 -
My local Morrisons quite often puts the SEL a little away from the special offer. I have been caught out several times with fresh pasta and pizza where they have been BOGOF or two for £2 etc. The special offer label is frequently moved under the packs which are not on special.
I have complained about this, but they keep saying "oh someone must have moved it".
I also get overcharged quite regularly. No real joy from CS either, although I do get a refund of the difference.
Still shop there as its convenient but always try and check receipt before I leave the store.0
