so I am now being accused of lying - this friend is genuine and I am more than happy to give you the original link to a thread that I started yesterday on a completely different site. This friend is 100% genuine - yes I have deleted my friends boy name from the post, as i have deleted my own and my daughter.

I have nothing to do with Lapland, I am just another parent who has treated her 2 year old to what I hoped would be a magical experience

I feel very hurt about some of the comments.

in fact just to prove that I am not lying here is the link

You feel very hurt? What about all the 1000's of families who have been, and come away with nothing but a bad taste...of bad taste?! Seriously, our anger and frustration isn't aimed at you personally, but you have to think hard before you go against the grain and post something like you did. What did you think the reaction would be? I'm not saying you shouldn't speak out if what you believe is true - after all, that's what freedom of speech and expression is. But the point is your not speaking out of experience are you, you're opinion is based on hear-say, and I truly believe that if you go (and you should under the circumstances) that you'll be joining the rest of us. Please understand, my family are very luck and we can afford to weather the loss, but there are people like me that are so angry about this whole fiasco and how it's hurting families and their children, that we feel morally obliged to help publicise the scam to help other people (maybe like yourself) avoid it.

A caller on the radio said the ice skating is an extra £5 per person on the day?

We've got 4 tickets for this Saturday (!) and obviously don't want to go now but can I claim if we don't go ? Anybody know how I stand ? Don't really want to drag the kids all the way down there (2 hours from ours) just to disappoint them (luckily they don't know anything about it yet !).

Do you think they would know whether we went or not if we just make a claim after Saturday ? (or is that a no-no !)

  • Looking at that website, I cannot understand why anyone thinks they have been misled. The site is utterly unprofessional, put together by travellers or suchlike. Sorry you've wasted money, but come on, a bit of common sense wouldn't have gone a miss.

I recall BBC Watchdog covering something similar a few years ago, but this was indoor and nothing like as bad as this one has been described. Nevertheless, people felt it had been mis-advertised and was highly expensive for what it turned out to comprise of. The main purpose of the elves seemed to be to usher people from section to the next as quickly as possible.

From what I can see it must have been bad considering the number of people who have posted their frist thread on the MSE Forums.. Maybe you should all followthe example of the Anti goverment protestors in bankok and have a sit in protest atthe place... Sounds Awful.

It really is disgraceful that the organisers can get away with this sort of "Scam" The local council should have closed it down or at the very least investigated it at the first sign of complaints
