We have got tickets booked for 20th December and really don't know what to do.
A friend of mine went yesterday, and she was aware of all the problems but thought she would see for herself what the problem was. This is what she told me on another site:
hi xxxxxx
we have just got back from lapland & had a fab day.... dont know what the problem has been, it was a magical day, loads of snow & elfs (more elfs than visitors) loads of sheds (not log cabins, but who cares) with activities for Kids to do, with help form parents, snow coverd trees, wolves, pigs, donkeys, reindeers, geese, rabbits, loads of free gifts for kids, punch & judy, free funfair.. as many goes as you want.... at the end of the day its for the kids.... i would go again, it was fab. the elfs were really friendly & were playing with xxxxx & running around with him. yes the entrance was hard to find & there were no 'log cabins' no hustling christmas market (as we were taking xxxxx to see santa, xmas shopping didnt matter) we believe it was a magical day & enjoyed it hun, we took some packed luch as the food is pricey, also to see our little boys face light when he saw santa, the elves, snow & animals it was worth every penny.......
at the end of the day chritmas is for our children & i think that people have been too harsh....
please go & enjoy your family day, we still went today even though our friend called us last night after going yesterday & told us not to go as it was trash. with all the negativity from her day...2 hours to get in, rain (that washed the snow off trees) 2 hours to see santa... it was the opening weekend with teething problems & some people were expeting the real thing for under £100
please go, xxxxx will love it. xxx
This is a genuine post from a friend of mine - I am more than happy to PM people the site if they don't believe me.0 -
belive me i am not wrong i went on saturday it was awfull!!!!!!!!!!!
crappy free gift for my six year old it was just a box of stickers great for the £25.00 that i paid for her,the fun fair was certainly not free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the carrosell went that fast she was sick when she came off,no activities for us ,no gingerbread decorating ,no helping santas elfs to make toys no snow no atmosphere at all except a bad one,i think your friend has gone to a different place just look at all the dissapointed people we are not all wrong!!!!!£25 to walk around a gravel pot holed travellers site is far far to much,we have been robbed and i for one am FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!                 :mad:0 -
no but we were told there were 3,000 people there on sunday & 1500 complaints to security by lunchtime. The security guard was embaressed to be associated with it & said it was nothing like the website he thought it looked like it had been organised by a bunch of travellers.I went to lapland uk last year which was a million times better. If you want a contrast just look at their website & their father xmas.Last year the price was the same as lapland new forest.
Do you know what worries me about that? supposedly that weekend was the only weekend that wasn't fully booked!!! How many people do they think they can cram in there when it is fully booked?
They are going to need a present load (I believe that is the collective term) of Santas, allocated time slots to see him, a proper sheltered area to wait for him, a blocked off area in his chalet sorry, grotto, so that the children do not have others watching on for their special moment and more then just one shed of each activity to keep them amused whilst you are waiting for your time slot.
It doesn't take too much thought into offering the value for money so many of us feel we didn't get does it?0 -

I am not saying that any of you are wrong - I am just telling you what my friend told me after her visit yesterday. We already know from previous posts that the company doing the snow were going back to do more snow - may be she has just been lucky and gone on a quiet day, when it hasn't rained, and also when snow business have just redone the snow.0 -
i couldnt agree more!if they do improve it then good on them although i doubt they will, but those of us who have already been deserve a full refund!:T0

I agree that all of you have been and have not had an enjoyable experience fully deserve a refund - and I can assure you if my experience is not good on 20th then I will certainly be joining you all in the fight - assuming it hasn't closed down by then0

Hi can't brlieve your friend thought it was good can't have very high standards.I went to lapland uk & if you want to see how it should be done just look at their website.I also paid the same price last year as i did this year for lapland new forest,100 POUNDS IS A LOT OF MONEY it only costs 30 pounds to get into eurodisney once your there. All i can say is in attempt to evade trading standards and loss of revenue that they changed somethings, everyone was complaining when we went & not all of them have replied to forums. It was nothing to do with the weather it was raining last year in lapland uk,& their were galeforce winds, but more shelter ,shelter whilst waiting to see santa with an allocated time slot, stories.Proper gingerbread making with a mrs claus in a proper log cabin with lapland costumes friendly elves,a toy workshop ,organised activities reindeer up close, huskys,a free glass of mulled wine or hot drink.A proper post office with a proper counter with a postmaster in costume with a special wax seal for the letter for father xmas.Yes there was some mud to be expected in areas in the woods bit they were putting gravel down & scooping up the worste.Last year was their first year too & we went in the first few days,it wasn't perfect but was a million miles away fron the new forest.Santa was amazing & new all about my son as did the elves waiting she knew he played football in goal & the name of his cat AMongst other things as did father xmas. You were allowed in one child at a time into a properly decorated hut with an amazing father xmas in an amazing costume.Even the elves wore elve shoes not mismatched costumes & there own shoes. My son who is 7 asked to go home on sun at the new forest as he was so upset the toys were rubbish.Father xmas was smoking in front of us the costume was rubbish. The elves didn't make any attempt to speak to the kids,i could go on and on but most of it has been said before. Please look on the lapland uk website to see how its supposed to be done& note the few complaints from there.0

i also went before all of this and have seen the pictures since but this was not a representation of what i saw at that time0
