You don't socialise widely, do you? Understandable. I prefer not to mix with them, either. I can't afford to.

LOL. It's not a case of not socialising widely, more that I've met my most of my friends through education or work! ;)
If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.
  • Should I contact Tesco directly, I do not wish to pursue with a "where there's a blame there's a claim" company.
Sue for Millions it is about time we took them to the cleaners
  • just sue, it seems obvious thats you want someone to just say it to make you feel better about doing it.

the fact that your mind has moved straight to comkpensation claims proves this to me! lots of people slip in stores or have minor accidents and dont even think about claiming. get over it!
  • wow, some people on here are very sarcastic and rude!!
  • I think the origional person is saying she slipped in Tesco, it was an accident but a bit embarassing, she has belled a few muscles and maybe got a sore bruised knee, but knows its not the end of the world.

If she contacts Tesco to say she is worried about other people, might she get a few quid in Tescos vouchers. I say it's worth a try and all those saying otherwise are talking out your bums, it's no skin off your nose and if you think they will charge you more for her gain, think about howmany money off codes and coupons and extra points codes you have all used over the years. Enough to get them stopped and spoil it for the others who didn't abuse it.

    Everyone can just jog on.

    Get on the phone woman.
  • I used to work for Tesco and as part of the training in how important it was to keep the floor clear etc they showed us CCTV footage of an elderly lady slipping on a grape.

So even if you don't get any compensation, you could be the star of a Tesco training video for years to come!

On this issue I second what dunstonh says! If you don't agree with "compo culture" and admit that you are not seriously injured, why exactly do you feel the need for compensation?!

If you could SEE that the floor was wet, shouldn't you have taken more care walking across it?! Why is it that people feel that they need to be forewarned of every little thing? There is such a thing as common sense, even if it's very rarely applied!

I agree the common sense bit, all these people who claim all this compo are just adding more and more money onto ALL insurance policies and this includes the policies business's have to take out including public liability insurance, so who do you think pays the all increases companies have to pay? Come on I want my shopping to get cheaper NOT more expensive Have i put this on the wrong bit? I am newbie gimme chance~
  • i had a terribe sickness from eating some tesco finest smoked garlic mayo... i had bought it two day before and as it was new to me i didnt realise it had gone off..... when i was well i found the recipt and went to the store.. they were briliant.. i didnt ask for anything, i just wanted them to check the shelves but the manager came to see me instore and gave me 25.00 vouchers, as it was three more jars were there out of date... i think though going back to the wet floor... someone needs to be told off for no sign or mat... i have fibromyalgia and if i fell i would be ill for weeks. so it needs addressing.

  • I think the compensation culture has got out of hand. I work in s shop and am quite neurotic, following the cleaner about with the cleaning in progress cone.
I alos used to run the local Beaver scout group and one of the reasons I gave up was becauses of the rules to prevent any compensation claims were so stringent. I had to apply to the district commisionar to take them across the road and into the park. Madness
