if you are not injured but really want compo ,then you should give the compo to charity ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

Shouldn't that read "if you are not injured but really want compo, then you're taking the p1ss!" :rolleyes:If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
The law is to blame for compensation culture. Our own collective stupid organization.
NO ! Americans and their way of life are to blame for the compo culture. The most fickle, gullable and money driven society the world has. Problem is it's catching on here, just as everything else bad that comes from the US does.0 -

This lunchtime I went to our local tesco express and it has be a drizzly day but the rain had stopped when I went, it's only be drizzling a bit.
I walked into tesco and fell in the doorway inside the shop with quite a splat I have hurt my knee and my lower back, but not requiring hospital treatment.
I have a copy of the accident form that the staff member filled out, and she has written in it that the floor was wet and no sign was up.
I do not agree with the "compo culture" we now have but I do feel Tesco should recompense me. They had no sign up and the floor mat was pushed out of the way and the floor had not been dried after the rain. I am injured although not seriously.
Should I contact Tesco directly, I do not wish to pursue with a "where there's a blame there's a claim" company.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thank you

I can't see a problem with using a "if there's blame there's a claim" company.
Surely this is the ethos of this website.
From stoozing, and making a profit from banks money, claiming compensation for delays on cheap flights for probably more than the cost of the ticket, putting £100 of a payment on a credit card so you're covered for thousands, using cashback sites and offers to get car insurance for practically free, using voucher codes that have been posted by anyone else, you name it, it's on here.
And if these are justified by the fact they can afford it, so can Tescos, if it's a legal loophole, the compensation culture is legal, just go for it.
It's free money like all the rest.0 -
OK, none of it is free money then, like all the rest.
How is the compensation culture different to all the others here

I was about to partially recant and suggest something much on the lines of Mikey72.* This site is riddled with loathsome pond-life grubbily stuffing their pockets. From stoozing to abusing consumer protections intended for genuine malefaction to serially stealing from film rental companies to pocketing cashback to abusing compensation intended for mistakes to trying to destroy 'free' banking. It is all very sordid and unpleasant.
* except I disagree one should 'go for it.'0 -
thank you for all of the sarcastic comments, they are truly appreciated. Firstly, it had stopped raining some time before I went into the store, secondly, I am not stupid I am quite aware that peoples shoes are wet etc etc...my point is that it could have been someone elderly etc etc. Fair enough I am not seriously injured but I do now have some knee and back pain, and feel that if the store had taken better care regarding the floor I wouldn't have slipped. I did not go running into the store in stilettos, I had trainers on.
KimYeovil- If you have nothing constructive to say then do not say anything at all...you clearly have too much time on your hands to reply to this post three times!
I will write to Tesco to point out that although we cannot be forewarned of acorns falling out of trees, they should have had the mat provided in front of the door for wet shoes to walk over and they should have taken more care keeping the floor as dry as possible, I did not see that it was wet, maybe I should have crawled in on my hands and knees.
I will now know not to post here again, as it seems to me that there are many people sitting around all day thinking of sarcastic ways in which to reply to posts, good luck to you all, have fun.0 -

To be fair, any claim would be based on what actually happened, not what could have happened. Here I go again on my own....0
