    Hi
i signed last week to click6 no problem

    i received order confirmation email

will i get another email for the online account?

    many thanks

I got a letter in the post....quoting their standard rates. I had to ring and confirm that I was actually going on Click 6.

Even before I'm back in the door I am remembering why I left this bunch of shysters a couple of years ago...

But..I'll put up with crap if the price is cheap for a commodity that is the same no matter who I buy it from

I always said I'd never go back to British Gas, may years ago, however the beginning of the year, I switched electricity to ckick 5, then about 3 months later switched to Scottish Power, today I have switched to Click 6, had to call in as the website came up with the same error mentioned above.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    Which others pay £15?

I know the cashback sites listed above of the page don't offer cashback on this tariff.

Sorry, I just assumed the above offered it on all tariffs.. Whats the point if they only "reward" people taking out the more expensive tariffs..

Had exactly the same "Thanks for signing up to our standard tariff paying quaterly by cash/cheque". Had to laugh. I phoned them up and got passed from pillar to post. Spoke to no end of different people who hadn't got a clue.

Phoned up Simply Switch and they were brilliant. A young lady said that all the managers had gone home for the evening, but she would be around for another couple of hours and she'd see what she could find out. Got a call back 30 minutes later confirming that my switch request had gone through correctly and so it must be BG who had made the error. "Afterall" she said, "it's not possible to switch to BG's standard tariff via our website - who'd want to?" :rotfl:

Phoned BG the next day and this time actually spoke to someone who did know their posterior from their elbow, and she confirmed that I was switching to Click6 and the letter was wrong.

Comparison sites can only offer the £15 or so cashback on energy suppliers giving them £15 or more kickback. As now British Gas are only offering affiliates a kick back of £2.50 for a single fuel, the cashback site can't then offer more than they get. Same way you don't get cashback when switching to Ebico - they offer no kickback, helps keep their costs down.

Exactly same hes happened to me.

They have told me to go online 3 days before connection date to change to Click 6.

Does anyone know if your tariff is changed instantly when doing this, because i dont want to pay their standard rate.

I think everybody should check their letters to make sure they've put you on Click 6 tariff

Hmmmm, I'd earlier been considering switching to Click 6 as they claim they can save me £200+ a year but the last few posts here have reminded me just why I left BG in the first place, swearing never to use them again. In fact I had a BG salesman cold calling a couple of weeks ago and I told him I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole :rotfl:

What to do, what to do

I had same letter and was told it is instant. The change over date in my case is split, electricity being 4 days before gas, but I was advised to phone up on the gas day and the electricity swap would be backdated. I was given 0800 0480101 to phone.

Surprised you signed up for the gas, considering they are dearer.

Works out cheaper electric from BGas and gas from elsewhere.

That's certainly true and it wasn't until I started looking at the utlilities separately rather than dual fuel prices that I noticed BG was so much cheaper for electricity on their Click 6 tariff. I'll be staying with Ebico for my gas though ;)
