ok 3 people Twinky has left to buy for.... not sure if they are male or female but what ultra money saving gift ideas can we come up with...

    Sounds lovely :D x

Someone is getting hot choccie and a mug (as long as I don't self-gift and give it to myself!) :D

Thanks for all posties, jacked the gym in for wine instead, feeling better already with some nice chat.

What xmas ideas can I offer?

Well, for xmas cards, ebay has a wonderful range of card making stuff, and if anyone needs any card making stuff, I can dig out what I have and send it in the post to them if they are a bit short this xmas.

Maybe a trip to Lush (or Boots or Superdrug or something less expensive) and an empty box covered with paper and a silky bow, bath bombs and stuff. Can get some nice expensive stuff for cheaper or normal stuff for cheaper cheaper on Ebay.

Tesco are doing some £8 wines for £4 at the moment.

The cake idea is good, I may try it, I like cooking, it lets my mind (which constantly worries and is calmed by chocolate and wine :D ) go into automatic mode. I love doing things in series and taking care over it so that would be great for me at the moment (could do with the off switch for thinking).

Could buy some costume jewellery and put it in a nice little patterned box or bag?

    I'll have a further think :o

3 people left, get somewhere with 3 for 2 deals. Have you got any boots points you could use?

Yep, £19.54 on my card! :D
  • Thanks everyone. I did buy a purple handbag/going out bag one year. Am off shopping at the weekend so will have to get something then.

I was thinking of things that are typically British.

I did see some purple bath sets with eye mask but it was quite heavy. I did see a watch with a purple strap in a shop which was OK but I have bought a silver watch before but that was a about 5 years ago so might see if it's still there.

I didn't send her anything for her 40th back in February so need to get a few things to make up for it.

I'm sure I'll find something. Thanks for all the ideas.

I'm up for fluffy xmas chat!

Pinky - why dont you tell us who you've got left to buy presents for, ages, sex, interests etc and we'll help come up with an idea for a present for them within your budget, ready for when you get paid, and thats one less stress to have to contend with.

As for your credit cards etc, have you any way you can transfer balances between them so you have fewer seperate payments to make?

Hi, my dad is 69, loves whisky, horses (Edit: in a gambling sense!!) and the trumpet

My aunt likes expensive scented candles and shopping and M&S food.

My other aunt is 72, loves eating out and is into line dancing! She likes make up and pearly costume jewellery and Cabernet Sauvignon!!!

    :o

Would like to buy something and then make something. Might try to make a xmas cake or something for each of them (actually think the baking/hot choccie thing would be great too!)

I did mean we'd all come up with ideas for your other 3 presents you had left to buy, but good ideas there too hun :rotfl:

    Ooops! Thanks :D

I've gone into problem-solving mode (my weakness).

How much did you want to spend on the purpleness?

You are funny! Not sure, probably about £20-£30, I've got a couple of things (Russian Dolls and a Guardian Angel ornament thing) she normally gets me a tea towel or tree decoration and American chocolates, so I normally buy a small box of chocolates. I could get her a Calendar she has sent me one in the past. It doesn't all have to be purple, something with London on or something British she's never been over here before. I've only met her once when we went on a tour of Hawaii in Sept 2001.
