Thats ok Tirlittan, we're all here to help.

Why do you think youre going to go over your grocery budget? Maybe we can help you in that respect?

As for Ebay, I'm the last to judge as I've not listed on there either but out of pure laziness. Do you really not want to sell the stuff? If you think you'll use it again in the future or its to painful to part with, then dont, theres no point in making yourself unhappy for the sake of making an overpayment to your credit cards.

  • I'm way to lazy to list on Ebay and have 1/2 a wardrobe of clothes that could be listed so don't feel bad Tirlittan

I think everyone gets like that with Ebay as its quite an effort to do the listing. Especially clothes as you may have to iron them, then photograph them and then list them. The only thing that keeps me going is the buzz I still get from seeing bids on my items.

Ebay will slow right down soon with xmas coming up so probably realistically only another couple of weeks to get things listed anyway and you find in January it drops right off too.

I have lost the plot with regards to this challenge so need to get myself sorted. Now we have sorted out the finances and I know what I am paying I will be able to sort out my new total. So will get that done this afternoon and in my sig.

Thanks guys for being so understanding. I think it's been partly pure lazyness and partly cos similar items don't seem to fetch much money. I have a few other bits and pieces I want to put on and kidding myself that today might be the day. I'm also procrastinating about it cos almost every night I have something on between 6 and 9 and I think that's the best time to have an end to your listing. Or am I wrong and this really doesn't matter? Food wise I've just been eating crap and buying breakfast and lunch and snacks etc. Today is the first time for ages (couple of weeks) that I've brought lunch in, so I'm getting back to good ways, but don't have much money left in grocery budget and that needs to last till 15th of December.

I tend to have mine end from 8-10pm as most people will have had their tea, kids settled and be mooching on Ebay.

Have you tried using Auctiva.com. It's completely free to use and gives you the benefit of being able to schedule when your listings start. So you could list some now say to start tomorrow at 8pm.

    Hope that makes sense.

Yeah, I joined auctiva on Friday I think, but haven't had chance to do anything on it yet. Hoping to do some after work and before going out. Even if I just list couple of items, it would probably do the trick.

  • Tirlittan,

I think you have just inspired me to list some things on Ebay tonight after about 3 months of laziness. My goal is to reach £25 as that is a nice round number and will help to increase my payoff to maybe 1000/15K (including other payments!)

But you're back now and thats the important thing :rotfl:

I've worked out my budget for the next month, £75 all to myself and thats it!
Got to be better with my spending. Worked out that I spent over £150 on just carp last month, and thats not on at all!

So food budget for next month is £175, and my me spends is £75 so this should all work out :rotfl: Want to get these budgets down to a fine art this month as I will be paid early in December and I need to make my money then last till the end of January, so if I can stick to these budgets this month, then I should be able to manage till end of Jan.

£75 to yourself isn't too bad really considering the time of the year.

I need to budget to within an inch of my life if I am going to make any overpayments in the future. One of my key areas will be general spends (diet coke, sarnies etc) and food shopping. Now there is only 2 of us I am hoping to get my food shopping right down. My little girl eats loads of veg and fruit which is obviously cheap so I'm wondering if with meal planning I could get down to £100  .

I get paid early in December too I think, I may check tomorrow when I am in work to find out the actual date and it means January is sooooooooooooo long and near on impossible to get through.
