  • Just been adding up how much I owe again, it's at £17,658, have just paid £3.30 off Capital One to round it down to £1,000 and paid off the last £17 off my Littlewoods catalogue.

I won £49 on bongo yesterday - all from a £10 original stake thro a cashback site so really chuffed! Unfortunately that just offsets the treats we gave the family yesterday - took the kids to see HSM3 and let them have coke and popcorn as it has been so long since we did anything like that together... Also spent some money at B&M bargains that probably shouldn't have done but at least it cancels out yesterday's spending which is something. If it wasn't for this site I would have spent that money and not had any strategy in place at to help recoup it...

Hi - I've realised one of the reasons I'm struggling to pay off as much as I want to is because my child care provider now owes me money due to the childcare voucher system. I have £176 tied up in there from October plus more from this month. My plan is to let it build up a bit and then reclaim it as a cash refund if I can. Others have done that successfully. If that doesn't work, I will just cancel or reduce the vouchers later (as I will effectively have pre-paid) but have decided to count that towards the paperhat challenge.

  • Good stuff SavingH,

You are doing really well at the moment! I feel like I will be at a bit of a standstill at the moment until Feb (apart from minimum payments). I am really really looking forward to Xmas but in a way it is getting in the way of paying off my debts!

    Morning All,
Had a light dusting of snow here this morning but it all seems to have gone now which is sad.

No debt payments for me yesterday. Tonight I'm going to come home and see what money we've got in the debt account to see if I can make a sneaky payment to something.
Need to be really good this coming month, spent loads of money last month on seemingly nothing
Oh have also got a reclaim for work but that doesnt come off the debts but need to do that anyway.
Got 2 more presents for DH's stocking on Ebay last night and managed to get them both for less than £7.50! which I thought was really good.

Dyed my hair last night so feeling ultra positive and new LOL, not bad for a £5.99 outlay!

Well I just ate some left over stew - last of it which is just as well as really bored of it now. Washing some clothes on 30. Need to get house straight - am away again part of this week! It makes the weekend even more of a rush than usual... Need to try and make sure everyone has clothes to wear and easy food to eat while I am away... Why can't men taking responsibility for some of these things??? My OH would say he would but in practice he wouldn't...

  • I'm going to try for £15K by next xmas, depending on if I can get another job at the end of my 5 month contract.

I think I might manage realistically £12K or £13K, but if I aim for £15K there is more chance I'll get close to it.
