  • Hello paper hat gang and welcome to the new challengers! I've been away for a week and managed 4 no spend days in that time (not counting food though - a girl has to eat). A few months ago I would have just spent like it was going out of fashion but oh no, not this time (now it's just my clothes that are going out of fashion )! No souvenirs or airport perfume or magazines for me either... :T I see there has been some bum-kicking going on around here in my absence, so I'll jump right in with my own little POA for today. Here goes (gulp):

clean kitchen, living room, bedroom (perferably while listening to loud up-tempo motivational music)
    phone mum
    write emails
re-do budget for the month
    chase up missing cheque
    do French homework
    pick up stuff from OH's
    meal plan and shopping list
get a nice warm bath and finish reading funny book... ahhhhh;)

Come on the rest of you, let's get moving! :j

Obviously my mum has a strange sense of humour... and no I meant make up vouchers as in 1 voucher redeemable against washing up for one night.....:rotfl:

    Anyway.....

Did quite well today, didnt spend a penny, took lunch into work.
Dinner from the freezer tonight as well, so tiding ourselves over with what we've got indoors.

Hope everyone has been having a good debt busting day!

  • I did accidentally spend £6 in Poundland, but I needed most of what I bought so that is okish, especially as I offset that with £30 extra into my ISA. I also spent £2.50 on my lunch at work for the next two days instead of taking it on from home.

Oh and on my POA - well I did have a bit of a rummage around matched betting and I think I will need to carefully plan when I give it a go because of the initial outlay - it isn't a spare cash that you get back in a few days sort of a time of year is it???

Because I had decided that ^^^ I then thought I shoud repent for not starting MB yet so I spent a bit of time working out different scenarios for my final pay in my current job and my first pay in my new job (not entirely sure what either of them will look like???)

My ISA should be up to about £2k by at the start of January :T (If I am a very, very good girl ;) and if I have got my sums correct:o )

    Letters not quite written yet...

I've just had to extend my o/d limit as work haven't paid expenses yet. Have chased and it will get sorted this week but not quite on time IYKWIM. I have put some safeguards in place at work too to ensure this can't happen again...

I'm trying to get up to date with my ironing and washing - which will reduce the temptation to buy clothes for me or the rest of the family.

I have also been trying to get all my pressies wrapped so I can see how much I've got and so am less tempted to spend more.

Those two are probably more realistic for my poa with how I am feeling this week...

Have a great debt busting week everyone!
