Hi all, please give my a very big kick up the bum as I am not doing very good at all. I have tons of stuff to ebay and car boot but just can't seem to muster up enough energy to do something about it. I feel like I am flagging behind and am feeling a little sorry for myself with regards to having so much to pay out, especially as I am not working much at the moment being back at uni.
Please help me get motivated!0 -
Ok LoLo, you asked for it!
WHAPPAH!
Thats the sound of tihe whip cracking (in case it wasnt totally obvious LOL)....
Start off by just listing 2 things, thats your target for the day, when any job is broken down into smaller elements, it becomes a hell of a lot easier!
Put on some good music, dance it out, and pep yourself up, after a bit of boogie, you'll be raring to go and once you start, you build up momentum and you'll whizz through it all in a flash!
I need to catch up on my dooyoo tomorrow, and get 2 done, lagging behind now, ARGH! But still feeling a bit poorly, so not really had the inclination. Had a nice relaxing bath, and going to try and get a good nights sleep, and then have ajolly productive day at work and then come home for more of the same, thats the plan anyways!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi all,
Not much to report this week so far. Had a fairly quiet weekend & we got OH some clothes for Xmas yesterday (budgeted out of my Xmas spends). He needed new stuff so he is all kitted out. I will get some when I get paid.
Was a bit down over the weekend and that's why I didn't post much. Sick of not having much money and it is depressing watching other people walk around with loads of shopping bags. Does everyone else feel like that?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi CMD
I feel your pain, I hate this time of year, it just feels like everything is so unfair for so many people.
I always used to hate the guilt that I felt at xmas because I had lots of money (well actually, clearly I didn't, I just pretended that I did with all that *free* credit) to throw around and I have lived in some really poor areas and you could see the worry on the faces of lots of the parents in shops. Now I sometimes feel pi55y that I haven't got as much money as everyone else sems to.
Although that said I KNOW that money isn't everything and that I am being stupid and that I was probably being a patronising cow with my old head (most likely born out of knowing that my 'wealth' was utterly phony) and that I am in a much better place now but it doesn't make any more sense some days does it???
Gosh sorry, that turned a bit heavy. I meant to just say that yep - count me in for feeling like that.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

PAID,
Sometimes deep is good! yeah, it is just so frustrating. I was wandering around the shops yesterday and it made me feel so normal but I obviously couldn't afford to buy anything. Although I suppose the old me would have just bought loads of things on the credit card and worried about it in January. Your right though, money isn't everything.
Thanks, you made me feel better!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Cheers hun.
I find myself wandering around boots each evening and seeing people buying stuff at the counters and that used to be me - sometimes I feel 'good' for being strong :A and othertimes I could just throw everything away and go back to my old ways.:rudolf: (nearest thing to a devil I could find - well it has horns)
Thankfully the angel is winning at the moment.......£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

:rudolf::rudolf::rudolf: Ha ha, I love it!!!
Yeah, I know that feeling. I just used to shop, shop, shop and didn't worry about the repurcussions at all. All my friends used to do the same but they don't have debts but they didn't buy magazines or go for dinner as much as me so they were savvy in that way.
I just can't wait until the day I am debt free. I am going on a shopping spree (just for the 1st month, will save after that!!!)Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

what a pg rated devil image you found there PAID xx
Its an evil time of year for those of us are are trying to get out of debt, or save up or just generally not spend loads of money on total carp!
Maybe now though would be a good time to loosen the purse strings if you can and give yourself a budget of say like £20, and its yours to do with as you will, buy yourself a total treat, an early xmas pressie to yourself. I actually find it really hard to then spend it LOL but it does give me that sense of freedom that you sometimes crave when all you feel like you're doing is paying off debts, but then it also gives me that real self worth and inner strength when I dont spend it, or spend less, and I get to feel all virtuous....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Yeah, too true it is evil. Loosening the purse strings sounds like a good idea. Might treat myself to something small at the weekend. I will still be in debt this time next year but am hoping it will have reduced considerably so I can enjoy Xmas shopping!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
