  • Hi all

Not posted for a bit but look, look (in my siggy)

I paid some off, am hopeful for at least another £100 in this month too

Now my self congratulation is over, well doen to everyone making a dent.

I saw a bit of banter about spending diaries, I think they are great but I can't sustain them for a long time, I just do one for a bit every so often, remind myself what a !!!!!! I am when I fritter money away in M&S or somewhere and then give it up again until I need a refresh. My first one showed me within a day or two that I was spending £150 a month on brekkie and lunch!!!

  • Hey poorind,

    You are doing really well!

SavingH, sounds like a really nice evening! Looks like OH is really getting into the whole strict budget thing. The couple we are meeting for a few drinks tomorrow night (mine non-alcoholic!!!) asked if we wanted to go for a meal. OH said he had something on (white lie) and we would meet them just for a drink. He also made his lunch for uni today and had just tea (60p) and said he is thinking of getting a flask to bring in the tea in future. Am proud of him!

    Good morning everyone!

Got my AQA wages today and have cleared my RBS credit card. Yay, that has started the day off nicely!

Just have 1 loan (big) and 1 credit card (big) but easier to manage cos only the 2 of them! The 0% on the credit card runs out in March but I think I will leave it a couple of months and then apply for a 0% credit card. Am a bit worried I won't get accepted but won't know until I try. Then I will aim to overpay on the loan as the rate is 6.9%.

Hiya all! I can't wait to get my Barclaycard paid off at the end of this year. Last night I was trying to tweek my budget to be able to pay off Virgin when its 0% ends in September. Looking hopeful, but not sure where I'm gonna get any money for holidays, which are very likely with my BF. But as I'm budgeting with less money that I'll probably have available (a small payrise etc coming my way) I might be ok. Just feels you can do nothing in between when you get your wages. So looking forward to 15th (not far off now) so I can make more of a dent in my debts. And on spending diaries, I've kept one now since April 2007. Sometimes I might miss small items I've bought, but otherwise my spending is there pretty much as it is in black and white. I think only my last month was really good. :)

PAID - Love the abbreviation for PoorAndInDenial

but moreso :rotfl: :rotfl: @ !!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Made me giggle this morning :D

Yeah I think we're all soon going to be enetering into the "3 Week Wait" as pointed out by Tirlittan. You feel so positive and motivated seeing those numbers go down, and then it stops, and you're at a stalemate and that can really disheartening :o I'm going to try and hold off till mid-month to make anymore overpayments, just to give myself a boost, when I start to feel like its all going belly up.

But that said, I honestly and truly am so glad I started this thread, I mean its been a few weeks now and I'm really impressed with everyones motivation, although some serious whip cracking and a$$ kicking hasn't happened yet, which is a little disappointing :rotfl:

But congratulations to everyone so far on their efforts, we will all get there :T

  • CAFCGirl what are you on today? Can I have some of it please! You are so funny.

Today is my last day of Ebaying, transferred £90 from Paypal yesterday as I sold a few things yesterday that I wasn't expecting to. Have had a sore throat the last few days and was worried I'd have my Op cancelled, but am better today.

I have a confession, I had to add £125 onto my credit card yesterday as went to view Alisha's Pixifoto's and couldn't say no to any of them, so do I have to deduct £125 from my sig?

I'll be a bit quiet from tomorrow for a week or two as I'm finally having my gall bladder removed on Saturday, but once I'm recovered from that I shall be back with a vengeance and selling anything in the house that isn't screwed down.

I think my DH might have put something in my tea when I wasnt looking :T Huzzah!

Ok so dooyoo im now on 18k miles.... far off the 50k but all in the right direction
Just been moving our living room and bedroom round for our new furniture to be delivered between 10am and 2pm :rotfl:
Have discovered even more damp and mould in our flat so been taking photos of that to take into our letting agent tomorrow, getting to be quite a joke now.

    ANYWAY!
I wouldnt worry about discounting the 125 hun, as long as you dont keep on spending such atrociscous amounts (from the one waiting for her furniture to turn up whilst stroking her 18k debt lovingly!):rotfl:

You'll have it paid off soon enough TMD, plus if you had £90 from Paypal, technically you've only spend £35.... what a bargain!

And yes that is exactly how I managed to convince myself to spend money, who needs the voice of temptation when my head is floating about eh? :A - see thats my floaty head of temptation..... with its paper halo....:rotfl: ok i'll get my coat.....

Seriously what did he put in my tea?!

CMD - congrats on latest payments

Tirlittan - you sound really motivated

TMD - I'm spending on my CC currently but only for cash-back honest. I'm hoping the impact on next month's wages will be balanced out by the 3 pre-pay Xmas savings card I bought which gave me a £6 bonus on each. I am planning to pay that CC off in full each month as hopefully I'm just buying groceries, petrol etc that I normally do.

CAFCGirl - I know we all need a boost but if you want that whip out we could arrange it.... STOP spending on non-essentials. But please don't visit the finished baskets thread and see all the things I'm spending on :rotfl: they include pipe cleaners, pom poms, ribbon, googly eyes and flannels!
