Morning every one.
I'm going to have to put debt busting on hold in a few days time, hospital rang this morning with a cancellation for this Saturday so will be getting my gall bladder out - yipppeeee!!! no more pains, no more missing out on chips, cakes, biscuits, sausages and anything else fatty that I love to eat.
CAFC - choclate is definitely my main thing, at least I have been able to eat Dairy Milk, couldn't live without chocolate. Can you buy those small 2 finger kit kats or something for OH so he can take one a day.
Not doing the balance transfer yet until a better deal comes up, just going to concentrate paying more off the A&L card and the minimum on the others.
Got a dilemma about Ebay, obviously can't have auctions finishing after Friday as I'll be out of action for at least a week maybe more if they have to cut me open, was wondering if I should do some auctions for 10 days and list them Friday so they finish 10 days after my op, or should I not bother just in case something goes wrong and I'm ill for longer.
Update on my Nan, apparently they found a shadow on her lung or liver (my dad can't remember now) so have given her antibiotics and she has to go back in later in the week I think to be checked again, if the shadow is still there she could have cancer, hopefully she will be OK for a few weeks until I can get to see her.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Hi TooMuch,
Glad you can go in and get the op done. You must be relieved that they are taking you in sooner rather than later. Re: Ebay - I would leave the listing until you feel well enough, as I'm sure you don't want to be stressed out by that when you are recovering. Up to yourself though.
Hope there is good news about your Nan. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Hi everyone else!
Well have started my strict budget and am on day 2 of no alcohol til the 29th November (28 days without it to see if I can lose some weight & save some money!). Put money in the tin last night and told OH that this is what we have to survive on for a week (inc food). He seems well up for it and we have decided that if we have any left over (highly unlikely!) we will keep in the tin and go for a meal in December. Have a night out on Thursday with another couple so it will be interesting to see how the 'keep to budget and no alcohol pledge goes' (bearing in mind I have very little willpower).Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

hi all, sorry not been on much but had the kids at home and its been hectic. Not managed to get chance to put things on ebay yet and have had quite a set back as I have had to purchase a new laptop as my other was failing and I need it to do my college work. I have managed to make a few payments and pay a little more than my minimum payments so will update sig.
P.S. any tips on how to make more money easily?0 -
Hi all
TMD - Hope all goes well with your operation and with your nan. I would hold off e-baying for the mo and focus on recovery.
Clear my - hope you stick to the pledge. You seem to have cleared a lot of debt since August - any tips?
LoLo - all money making takes effort - if you have the willpower to not gamble beyond the initial deposit required to get cashback from sites like quidco, ipoints and pigsback etc then some of the gambling sites do offer easy money. One gave me £20 back for putting in £10 and then I won £55 using a free bet as well. I've also had bingo winnings. If however you have a gambling problem then stay clear. I've never gambled in my life before - and as soon as I have "gambled my initial stake" and met the cashback terms I withdraw any winnings. Other than that you can earn money on cashback sites for clicking or getting quotes.... Be aware tho that I'm still awaiting cashback from most of these sites in practice - some of which I joined end of August....

Hi SavingH,
The only reason I got rid of so much during the summer was because OH got contract work and we could throw some money at the debts. We are hoping he will get the same type of work when he finishes uni and that's why I hope to be debt-free by April 2010 instead of May 2014.
However, I find AQA really useful for earning extra cash and use that to make overpayments every month. They aren't looking for researchers at the moment but this changes on a daily basis so keep watching. I earn £200 on average a month (before tax)

Hello everyone
Best wishes for the op and Nan. I really hope she's ok.
Just off to check my accounts in a mo. Abbey are starting to really annoy me for some reason DH's standing order to our debt account never pays out, it keeps changing its date to the next month, so ym debt account went overdrawn but i think it was only for a day so hopefully it'll be ok, paid money into it first thing today. Fingers crossed xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
