Hi TMD sorry that it is so tough - hope you find a plan that works... I still make £20 a month on free daily scratchcards plus at least £10 a month on bingoport - plus any cashback site earnings... Are you doing all that kind of thing? Survey sites?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Everyone!
Have been looking at what I can save each month and I currently pay £20 Life Insurance, was thinking about cancelling this as it seems like throwing money down the drain at the moment and the £20 would be better coming off my credit card than going towards Life Insurance.
What do you think? Should I cancel or keep paying it?
Need to crack on the next few days and get more listed on Ebay, I have three big boxes of stuff behind me so will look through tomorrow afternoon when eldest two are at school and see what I can get done.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Hi TMD - personally I would keep life insurance if you have kids especially..... If you have a mortgage it is probably required by your mortgage company.....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi TooMuch,
Hope you are okay? It sounds like you are having a rough time lately.
I would also keep the life insurance, but I am cautious. Have you been doing the scratchcards like SavingH? I thought that was a good suggestion. There is also dooyoo - 50p per review. I find it great for Amazon vouchers for Xmas.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi all!
Sorry to hear things are bit pants atm TMD. I'm on my overdraft as well for the first time in ages, but it was partly planned.
And CAFCGirl, haven't been on your diary for a bit, but hopefully you're feeling better soon.
No dongle arrived yesterday, hope it'll be waiting for me today when I get home. So much to put on ebay!! I want the money.
£12.23 extra on student loan account today from amazon sales. Need £171.21 more before end of August, but £50 of this I already know how I'll get so really only need another £121.21. Ebay sales would help and hopefully get more sold on amazon as well. It's slow, but I'm sure I get there.
Lovely day here today, but will not go to the beach as shoulder's aching a bit, will go to gym instead. 8 more weeks of that so better make most of it!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Evening
TMD sorry to hear its so tricky at the moment. I'd axe the life insurance as long as no dependants. f you've got a mortgage as SH says some companies want you to have cover though.
Got a terrible headache as did a 12 hr day at work. Trying to drink lots of water and veg for a bit, whilst pretending wine wont cure my ills :rotfl:
Does anyone else think its bit an odd month thats dragging? Couldn't believe it was only the tenth. Although I did also write the date as 10/6/08  Time warp?!Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

Morning all!
Decided to check the exchange rate today, cos thought the capital on my loan must be higher now because of it. But no! I was positively surprised, the capital on my loan has gone down by just over £200!! Was £9,806.05 now £9,596.74.
Very difficult to keep tabs on exactly how much I owe because of the conversion. So what do you think, should I adjust my sig? Also, what do you think I should do about the interest on my loan as it obviously gathers every month a bit more as I only actually pay off every 4 months? I’ve put it’s £80 interest a month, but it’s actually lower now if my capital’s gone down, but I’ll work with that anyway.
This is how my table looks, the plan anyway, advice how I should present it in my sig would be welcome. Hope you don’t mind me putting it on this thread.
Interest added is £80
Month Interest Putting aside
in total each month
May £1577 £100
June £1657 £115
July £1737 £120
Aug £1817 £120 +£145 extra
Aug Pay -£ 600
Sep £1297 £400
Oct £1377 £400
Nov £1457 £400
Dec £1537 £400
Dec Pay -£1600
=+63
Thanks for advice peeps.
Sorry the formatting of the table doen't quite work.Hope you get it though.
The first column is month, then interest in total and last how much I'm putting aside each month. Payments will go end of August and end of December.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
